FRIENDS started with being a mere television sitcom to being a common name in every house hold. Its charm spread like wildfire. The whole world rejoiced in their happiness & cried with their tears. It was declared as the biggest hit in the sitcom industry. It can never be replaced by any other sitcom ever.

It was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which premiered on NBC on September 22, 1994. The series revolves around a group of friends in the area of Manhattan, New York City. Friends have made a large cultural impact. It was the lives, loves, and laughs of six young friends living in Manhattan that captured the minds of millions of viewers across the world.

The series featured six main cast members throughout its run, with numerous characters recurring throughout the ten seasons. During the series' ten season run, the actors all achieved household name celebrity status. The cast was highly appreciated by critics for their acting.

The cast included Jennifer Aniston portrays Rachel Green, a fashion enthusiast. Courteney Cox Arquette portrays Monica Geller, the mother hen of the group, known for her obsessive-compulsive and competitive nature. Lisa Kudrow portrays Phoebe Buffay, an eccentric masseuse and musician. Phoebe is known for her self-written guitar songs and for being ditzy yet street-smart. Matt LeBlanc portrays Joey Tribbiani, a struggling actor and food lover. Matthew Perry portrays Chandler Bing, an executive in statistical analysis and data reconfiguration for a large multi-national corporation. Chandler is known for his sarcastic sense of humor, and marries longtime friend Monica. David Schwimmer portrays Ross Geller, a paleontologist working at a museum of Prehistoric History, and later a professor of paleontology at New York University. Ross is involved in an on-off relationship with Rachel throughout the series.

It is an ongoing journey of six young people, on their own and struggling to survive in the real world, find the companionship, comfort and support they get from each other to be the perfect antidote to the pressures of life. The lives of all these characters goes through many ups & downs but the bond that they portray is strong & firm till the very end.

The soundtrack for friends was coined by The Rembrandts named "I'll Be There for you". It was a number one bestseller. Friends were a craze which went on to become a trend all over. Friends received positive reviews throughout its run, and became one of the most popular sitcoms of all time. The series won many awards and was nominated for 63 Prime time Emmy Awards.

Friends were much more than a mere sitcom. It became a habit & people started living with it. The characters were so real that the masses could relate with it. Friends will always remain the most loved and talked about show ever on television.
