Been Listening to: Seun Kuti : son of Africa's iconic singer - Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Seun Kuti, son of the 'un-Copiable' Fela Anikulapo Kuti recently released a
cracking album.
It is long awaited.
Seun does not make too much effort to distinguish his musical ambitions from the deep political roots, his Father was a masterclass at. He doesn't try to re-create the Afrobeat. He is simply taking it on.
The Infusion of jazzy trumpets / piano and authentic Afrobeat drums may sound a little inferior, but it is as close as it gets, when one inevitably compares to Fela's legendary LPs. Its slower, and richer, compared to Femi Kuti's works.
I just picked this up last week and playing it on my recently purchased 7.1 surround system is simply awesome.
This piece of music will connect to you political mindset the more, if you understood the 'yabs' and political 'disses' that its made of, but if you do not understand the language (in which case you haven't been to Nigeria
) just try the beat. It rocks !
Baba 70 lives on. Welcome Seun !
As always - Here is a 192k MP3 here of "many things" http://rapidshare.com/files/156329546/03-seun_kuti_and_egypt_80-many_things.mp3
Enjoy!
