I don't know what I did right but lately random magicians have been adding me as friends on facebook. From these new friends I hear about different magical happenings in the world. Recently, one of these magicians performed at the world famous Magic Castle. Luckily for us he posted a large portion of his performance on YouTube. Enjoy, this could have easily been posted as a Friday Humor post.

It's been a while since I've posted anything so I figured my Birthday is on a Monday why not start back with a JAMM post. I have a friend in the office whose dad is a Magician and he has said several times that the cups and balls is his favorite routine. Last week I had the pleasure of seeing a great cups and balls routine by Michael Ammar at a seminar hosted by my magic club. As an professional wrestler, musician and now magician I've noticed that men are usually at the forefront of the field. Women are there, but they are often times just eye candy or in the case of magic eye candy misdirection. That's why when a female performer makes a name for herself at the top of the field it's usually quite amazing. Enter Angela Funovits. She is a woman who, according to her bio, always wanted to be a magician's assistant so she worked hard to be the best she could be. One day she realized that her abilities were beyond magician's assistant and she should be the magician. To top it all off, she also knows how to use her feminine wyle's for a little eye candy misdirection.

In order to not bore you with more card manipulation magic I found yet another card manipulation routine that will knock your socks off. I can't get enough of this stuff. This guy makes does an amazing routine that includes a ton ( possibly literally ) of Extra - Jumbo cards. Truly amazing.

Having an interest in the French language as I do, I love the magic term legerdemain. It means light of hand. Legerdemain makes magic so much more real to me. That's why most of the magic I've showcased on my magic Monday posts has been sleight of hand artists. This Monday's post really is no different. In fact, he is a manipulation champion.

At this point in my life LASERs are a little passé. As a kid they were so cool but now you can hold them in your hand, attach them to your keychain, annoy people in movie theaters and of course many forms of physical media still use them for playback. Leave it to magic to bring back the awe inspiring vision of LASERs.

Many weeks ago, I had the bright idea of checking youTube for some magic performances. One of the first I found worth mentioning was Lance Burton from The Best of Magic. A few weeks after that I had the bright idea of seeing what else was under the Best of Magic. First off, I stayed up for a long time watching these when I probably should have been sleeping. They were just so amazing and diverse. There was your standard stage magic by The Pendragons, humorous magic with Kohl & Co., a peaceful and impressive table routine by Hiroshi Sawa, and a great psuedo mime routine by Tina Lenert. There was also many more with some of the greats in magic, after all the show was The Best of Magic! One piece floored me though. The piece of Jeff McBride doing one of his mask routines. Amazing work with great mime and I was hooked, so I thought I'd share some with you.

Maybe I'm in a magic mood lately. It seems I keep posting videos of magicians. Well magicians or political videos. So today I thought I would post a political rant by one of the bad boys of magic, Penn Jillette. As is usual with Penn, it is a rant but behind his abrasiveness he does make some very good points. His main point? You can't go into the voting booth and vote against someone. You can only vote for someone.
