My Opera居然是eSlick

從2006年開始關注e-ink閱讀器，當年（2006年10月13日）還寫了篇日誌把當時備選的產品列了出來（Irex Iliad、Sony PRS-500、翰林 V8、M218A、Kindle），現在看起來，居然有些現在市場上還算主流的產品在將近3年前就已經推出了，現在也不過是升級產品而已，市場需求的疲軟，讓這類產品的更新盡然如此緩慢，這簡直不是數碼產品應該有的速度。iliad太貴，國產的做工不好，系統也不完善，而且也不便宜。關注了505很久，雖然無法完全支持pdf，但是sony的工業設計讓這些都不是問題，而且現在價格也降到了2000左右，但是往往關注得久的產品不是最後會買的，這次就是這樣，只一天的晚上，從看到別人的試用報告，開信用卡的海外支付功能，到上官網訂購，不過是2個小時，最終買下的卻是僅僅查閱了2個小時資料的Foxit eSlick，也許僅僅是因為比505更好支持pdf，字體可以自己導入，不用刷機，或者是因為260美元，更便宜的價格。就這樣，2年的研究、觀察被2個小時打敗了，希望這次的衝動不會是魔鬼吧。
當時寫下了幾個要求，似乎訂貨的時候完全已經忘記了，對比下看看：
我對電子書的期望很簡單：
1.不需要太快的cpu，速度快了廢電，像iliad那個號稱400Mhz的cpu我覺得太快了。（不知道，介紹裏面沒寫）
2.A5大小，太大不好拿，小了屏幕不爽 （6"是不是A5？不知道，好像沒那麼大，iliad才是A5大小）
3.黑白就行，灰度達到palm os4時代的16級就行 （才4級，連7年前的palm都比不上，不過目前也沒有，505也才8級）
4.分辨率1024*768或者800*600的標準分辨率，要不然像pdf這種格式顯示就很不爽。palm對pdf的支持就不好，我也不想用ppc，所以這方面希望很高 （600*800，這個達到了）
5.只用看書就行，至於能否儅記事本使用還沒考慮過 （只能看書，聽歌）
6.可以的話最好有書寫可能，可以作作筆記批註什麽的 （似乎沒有這個功能，非觸摸屏）
7.不要其它多媒體，費電 （還是有mp3播放）
8.打開的速度要快，開書開半天誰受得了。看了iliad的使用視頻，打開速度太慢了，還無法滿足我的要求。勇用palm就知道我這個要求一點都不過分。 （拿到用了才知道）
9.電池要夠，看個書還擔心電量就太不爽了，能撐一個禮拜是最好的 （官方宣稱可支持連續翻8,000頁，充電3-4小時充滿）

Ultra-low power consumption and long battery life
Based on the revolutionary E-ink technology, the eSlick does not use any power to maintain a page display while only using power when an image is changed. Also, a single battery charge provides up to 8,000 pages of continuous reading. That is to say, you can read your books for an entire evening but using very little battery.
