这是描写一个在非洲的西方职业外交官在妻子被杀害之后，到非洲去寻找妻子被杀的真相，在寻找的过程中了解到一个医药公司为了抢占新药上市的先机，在非洲借口免费治疗的进行新药的人体试验，在药物存在严重缺陷造成病人死亡的情况下故意隐瞒真相的情况。整个影片表现了丈夫从一开始的不理解妻子执著的想曝光医药公司内幕的行为到后来追随妻子的足迹也开始了揭露真相的行为，最终也被人杀害。其实这类影片在好莱坞已经非常非常多，但是我觉得这部片子给我最深的印象是在非洲实地拍摄所表现的非常草原辽阔的风光，以及人类在与黑暗势力斗争时所表现的人性的光辉。整个片子的配乐大气而不丧失温馨，the Quayles表现出来的那种温馨的感情深深地吸引了我。

我觉得影片的宣传语非常好的点明了整个影片的内涵：Love. At any cost.

尽管这部片子在去年的oscar中只获得了最佳改编剧本、最佳配乐、最佳编剧和最佳女配角四项提名，并且只获得了最佳女配角，但是对我而言这部片子比munich, brokeback mountain, capote....这几部获得最佳影片、最佳导演提名的影片留下了更深的印象。
