My Old School
15 images
The school I attended from 1-5th grade. I loved it, it was very modern and advanced, especially compared to the school I went to out in the country when I was twelve. I had never heard of beatings in school, or other such punishments, and suddenly I was back in the middle ages!
So it was a very modern school, built the year I started school. I can still remember the smell of new materials... and it still has that smell!
I had my second teacher practise period january 2007 on this same school, and I still love it! It meant much to me to perform well here, so not to ruin any precious memories, and I had a wonderful trainee period with a really good teacher!

The Go Getters
20 images
Rockband started as The Go-Getters in Lyngby in 1960. Original duo members being
Jan Blangstrup (rhythm-g, vo)
John Hartvigsen (vo).
From fall 1961 band with changing members, playing locally. Won 1963 the competition 'The Cliff Richard of Denmark' in Saga Cinema with following crew
Blangstrup
Hartvigsen
Per Holmstrøm Hansen (lead-g)
Peter Skander Madsen (el-bas)
Jan Jerichau (dm).
Recorded 1963 (without Hartvigsen) in the montage hall of the tape recorder firm A/S Movic. the tape, which was in stereo, was distributed by Frode Herløv & Co. Eight of the sixteen recordings was also used on an promotion tape for A/S Movic. Recorded spring 1964 the instrumental »11 O'clock« in the gym in Virum School. The song was first issued 1965, where Jerichau was replaced by Jørgen Henriksen (dm), who is playing drums on the B-side »Beat Babe«.
Recent news: There are plans of issuing a 'best of' with The Go Getters, the early sixties beat getting cult. Jørgen Mylius, a famous danish DJ and radioman will also include a Go Getters number on a CD by danish bands from the early sixties. I don't know if any of these are released yet.
The Old Apartment
60 images
Broke into the old apartment
This is where we used to live
Broken glass, broke and hungry
Broken hearts and broken bones
This is where we used to live
Why did you paint the walls?
Why did you clean the floor?
Why did you plaster over the hole I punched in the door?
This is where we used to live
Why did you keep the mousetrap?
Why did you keep the dishrack?
These things used to be mine
I guess they still are, I want them back
Broke into the old apartment
Forty-two stairs from the street
Crooked landing, crooked landlord
Narrow laneway filled with crooks.
This is where we used to live.
Why did they pave the lawn?
Why did they change the locks?
Why did I have to break it, I only came here to talk
This is where we used to live
How is the neighbor downstairs?
How is her temper this year?
I turned up your tv and stomped on the floor just for fun
I know we dont live here anymore
We bought an old house on the danforth
She loves me and her body keeps me warm
Im happy here
But this is where we used to live
Broke into the old apartment
Tore the phone out of the wall
Only memories, fading memories
Blending into dull tableaux
I want them back
I want them back

Let's go
Come on
Let's go
Empty out our pokets
and disappear.
Missing all our appointments
and turning up unshaven
years later
old cigarette papers
stuck to our pants
leaves in our hair.
Let us not
worry about the payments
anymore.
Let them come
and take it away
whatever it was
And us with it.

Childhood

From Blomstervænget 17 in Kgs. Lyngby Denmark, the neighbourhood where Nordisk Film studios were, and where you made the "Far til Fire" movies... about little Per and his father, two sisters and brother. The house where the movie was filmed was on the same street as mine!
