Daytime telly? Now it's You Tube

Today I am ill. I think it's Thursday. I have been ill for days so things are a little blurry around the edges. I feel guilty about not being at work and things are about to get a whole lot guiltier.
Gone are the days when, after whispering hoarsely (regardless of type of illness) down the phone to work, one drags one's sorry carcass and the duvet down to the sofa and switches on the television. Today I am on the sofa, yes, but under a lambswool/merino mix blanket and instead of the television remote in my hand, I have my laptop, well, on my lap. For now there is the You Tube television channel.
There it is on the You Tube home page: the TV Shows link. Click on that and all programmes are there. More than one could ever possibly watch (on sick days from the sofa anyway). I eschew the choice laid out before me for my delectation. I choose All Categories then Home & Garden. And there they are. Every episode of Grand Designs, Property Ladder and Location, Location, Location. All at proper resolution and in their entirety, posted there by the programme makers. Real Gardens, Selling Houses, The Hotel Inspector are all laid out, ready and waiting for me to gorge on them.
And gorge I will. It may be ten-thirty in the morning, and although it is permissible to have a peak at who Philip Schofield is talking to on This Morning, it is not really the thing to do. Staring blankly at the television screen is bad. Staring blankly at a laptop screen, well, that is much more acceptable. And it's home improvements, not Jeremy Kyle. And I AM ill...
