My most viewed photos at Shoot and Tell

I've been maitaining a photo album with the Shoot and Tell group for about a year and a quarter now. Among other things I've discovered that the photos I post there get many more views than the photos that I post in my personal albums. The above photos are my top ten going from top left (420 views ) to bottom right (138 views).
Of course those photos that have been posted the longest have had the greatest opportunity to accumulate views. And people may not even find the photo to be visually appealing; perhaps it's just provoked a certain curiosity that has lead them to look at the larger version of the photo. If you look at the comments related to the tinted ice photo, many people voiced their opposition to the fact that I had applied a monochromatic tint to the ice, so it's view count may reflect its controversial nature. The same thing can be said about my blue jay silhouette; there was a lot of discussion of the color that I chose for the silhouette because some perceived it to be an unnatural color. Despite this I think that I have to regard the "most viewed" photos in my album as my "popular" photos, even if there may be problems with them.
Given that understanding, I have to say that I was surprised how popular silhouettes are. Most of the silhouettes above were part of a silhoutte theme that Shoot and Tell sponsored near the beginning of my membership there. Perhpas I should explore silhouettes more.
At any rate, I'm glad I joined Shoot and Tell, and if you like photography you might consider joining, too. The rules changed this year making it even easier to be a member. We now only have to post 4 to 40 photos per month which is much more flexible than the weekly quota used last year.
