"Create follower tab" feature

, , , , ,

I some times think that Opera isn't doing a really good job marketing Opera browser or I am doing a poor job discovering them. There are so many features that Opera has in it's browser that most of the time the good ones aren't talked about that often.
For instance recently I discovered the "Create a follower tab" feature creates a new tab and any link that you click on the parent tab gets opened in the follower tab. It is really a neat and cool feature.

So whats really cool about this feature you ask?

Imagine you are reading an article there are many external links in that article. Obviously to read that article either you would abandon reading the current article and click on the link, taking you to the external page or right click and open in new tab. Sweet !!! you know how to use your browser but what if you are reading an interesting article and right when you are sinking into it you click on an external link by mistake and it starts loading the new page. Won't you feel like kicking yourself at times like that ? well then this feature is the solution to that.

Open a follower tab by right clicking the parent tab and selecting "Create follower tab" and you don't need to worry about links being clicked as any link that you click from the parent tab will automatically get loaded in the follower tab.

Beware of follower tabs, they are nasty p ... you might be wondering why none of actions that you are performing are working when in reality they are being executed in the follower tab. If you are like then you would have gone far into logging a complaint on forums with regard to this wink
