I entered the magical cyber world at the age of 12 (can't seem to get out it) when my father bought an IBM desktop. I distinctly remember it was a dialup connection. The desktop came with an in-built modem. The sound that it made while connecting ah I can never forget that. You can tell from the sound while its connecting if connection would be established or not.
I remember back then while connecting to internet you can't use the telephone line so the time I could spend on the internet was limited I think 1-2 hours a day(max), today 1 hour is the max time that I don't spend on the Internet.
Back in those days Google wasn't that omnipresent atleast people I knew didn't seem to know a lot about it. Yahoo was the search engine king back then. I carried out all my searches in Yahoo.
And Netscape Navigator was a cool browser to me back then

and while looking back I can say IE was never really an option for me back then and even now

.
Emails were slowly emerging and I remember I spent alot of time creating like 10-20 accounts with all the available services back then. yahoo, Hotmail, rocketmail, aol,netscape...etc. I was crazily creating email accounts and thought it was cool(silly me :sigh: ). Back in those days finding new and interesting sites was an adventure in itself. The moment I hit such nice sites I used to write it down in my personal diary.
There is only one thing thats still common: I SPEND ALOT OF TIME ON THE INTERNET
before it was discovering cool sites and now its just Facebook

Edit: Thanks to Opera

I broke a long "blog post drought(bpd)" with this one
