buffering the bytes

I may be a bit late with this review post! As i had finished reading the book the day after i bought the book, would have finished it on the same day had it not been for some shopping i had to do with my parents for Diwali festival which is round the corner!! Never mind, i at least got time and i am writing it now.Firstly the book before its release was said to be lengthier than the others(source:Chetan Bhagat's official blog) ... i rose my expectation a bit,but was probably just 10-20 pages more than the average book length of his other books!! Never mind the book length,it really didn't matter to me much besides i was excited about having to experience couple more of his good ONE liners,that made his books interesting to read.The first page into the book, it got me glued on to it . The story starts with Krish(punjabi) an IIMA student whose eye spots a hot girl (Ananya from tamil nadu) who has all the features for a girl to be called beautiful. The author(krish) makes his first conversation with the girl in front of the mess when Ananya confronts one of the mess worker about the food and krish actually walks up and tries to smoothen the situation by offering her his rasagulla to her,which she preferred to have instead of the offered !they slowly get to know each other. Their love develops over a period of time and the journey,is something you must experience when you actually read the book.
Girls like anaya,if and when they arrive by freak chance,become instant pin-ups in our testosterone-charged,estrogen-starved campus.?

As their term in the college comes to an end, and they get placed in good companies they decide its time to unveil this fact to their parents, and decide to do it so in their convocation. Unfortunately since its inter-state love both their parents are skeptic about it .. the story unfolds as the boy choses his choice of placement to be in Chennai in order to win the hearts of the girl sides parents and the hardships he encounters to actually get every member of his lover's family to say yes to their marriage. And about how the girl ,in turn visits Delhi to convince Krish's parents for their acceptance for their marriage. Things seem to go well, until when the lovers decide to take their parents to Goa for closure between both side's parents ..when things actually fall apart, with the girl breaking up with him and how they finally get married despite all the hurdles they had to come across!!The book bought tears into my eyes unnoticingly, in couple of occasions. Haven read all the other books which where quiet jovial and humorous, and also had some elements of sentiments, I never imagined this book would deal with so much of sentiments and emotions.And it was dealt with,in a very convincing way. After Act 2 of the book, the story completely deals with the emotions and sentiments of the author(Krish) and the reactions and loose talks floating in the air from the relatives at both ends(girl side as well as the boy side)!!and how both their parents try to convince them that they can get a better bride/groom in their clan itself!I am sure any one who reads this would certainly sympathize with the author's struggle to marry the love of his life despite the fact she hailed from a different state!this book certainly deserves: 5/5 SPOILER alert:

Couple of phrases/sentences/conversation that i liked in the book! she'll never date you,it is a rasagulla down the drain,i scolded myself When in doubt, the pretty girl is always right. why would any guy want to be only friends with a girl? It's like agreeing to be near a chocolate cake and never eat it.Its like sitting in a racing car but not driving it. Only wimps do that Pretty girls behave best when you ignore them(Ofcourse,they have to know you are ignoring them,for other wise they may not know you exist) 'I've never been so humiliated'she said.'Nobody cares.All professors are assholes.That's universal truth' how can such scary looking parents create something so cute? i will explain it so it makes sense.o sit and study with you is an exercise in double self-control. First,i have to force myself to pay attention to these boring cases.Second, I have to avoid looking at your face as much as possible because when I look at your face, all i want to do is kiss you.But we have this stupid just friends deal and your all cool about it and so that leave me whipping my mind to study nicotine-free cigarettes and not think about your lips and the little mole that is there below the lower one.'you noticed that mole?it's tiny' she touched'It may be tiny,but it at least has fifty percent market share in terms of my mind-space.
