Enabling right click on the desktop in Fedora 15 gnome 3

, , , ...

If you have used/ are using Fedora 15 Gnome 3 you would have realized that the right click option is disabled and that you don't have any icons on the desktop and you can't add any files/folders too.
To enable the desktop icons and right click on your Fedora 15 Gnome 3, follow these steps:
  1. Install dconf editor:
    $ yum install dconf-editor
  2. After installing dconf-editor, click alt+f2 and type:
    dconf-editor
  3. On the left handside panel expand:
    org->gnome->desktop and click on "Background"
  4. On the right hand side enable the "Show-Desktop-Icons"
  5. Close the dconf editor.

Now you will see the home icon, the partitions you have mounted, trash icon and computer icon and also be able to right click on your desktop ! smile
