Importing your Opera speed dials from an older version to newer one

, , , ...

I finally took time off to find the way to port my speed dials from the Opera version to the Opera Next version.

Not having speeddials on my Opera Next for this long kinda actually restricted me from using Opera Next that extensively because I use my speed dials more often than browse any other site. So its "Ctrl+1/2/3..." every few minutes/hours. And I was too lazy to actually add all those sites to the Opera Next speed dial all over again but today I some how managed to get my speed dials on Opera Next.
Here is how to do it :
All you need to do is copy the "speeddial.ini" file from the old opera version's folder to the new one.

Locating and transferring the speedidial.ini file:
  • Go to C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Opera".
  • Inside the Opera folder you will see two folders: 'Opera' and 'Opera Next'.
  • We/I need to copy the "speeddial.ini" file from the older Opera version to Opera Next..
  • Open "Opera" folder, scroll down you will see a "speeddial.ini" file, copy it.
  • Now open "Opera Next" folder and paste the "speeddial.ini" file into the folder, overwrite the existing file.
  • Done.

Now when you open Opera Next browser you will have all the speeddials you had in the older version of Opera smile

Bsnl offers double bandwidth speeds

, , ,

Excited ??Well don't be. I also was happy and excited when I realized that I am getting double the bandwidth speeds. I came to know that the speed were doubled from an ad in the radio. So today morning I went to the Bsnl website to check it out. it was true and the double bandwidth promo offer has been put into effect.but there is catch, this double bandwidth lasts only for a month BSNL never fails to amuse with their idiocy. I mean whats the point of offering double bandwidth for a month. And they call this a promotional offer. It will be disappointing to learn that you are back to age old same speeds after a month. In the outside world, in almost every country from hear say I have learnt that everyone of them get a down speed of 1Mb or more. And I thought that Bsnl's doubling offer is still not enough to compete with what the rest of the countries offer to its users. Just when I was feeling happy about the fact that I atleast 512 kbps bandwidth (which is around 60kbps of down speed)the stupid catch in their plan is revealed on the website. To me its a useless offer.
