Move #9

Well, well… yet another move. (back to the place we began… loooonnngg story) Hopefully we will be here for a while; at least a year. Thankfully I did not physically move as much stuff this time as I had classes that Saturday. When I came home much of the heavy stuff my friends all ready moved so I only had about 3 car loads to transfer to the old house.
With Housing so expensive (rent & mortgage) you can see why I had so much trouble finding a good place. …I recently read (today’s papers) & it said it’s impossible to mortgage a house on less than $12,000tt income in the East / West corridor of Trinidad. :insane:
My co-worker says the Real Estate market will ‘burst’ soon like it did in the States. Housing will go down but everything else will be affected negatively. In light of this… I intend to buy a tent! :irked: ….donated lawn space in a residential area will be appreciated. :worried:

No frogs please :eyes:

I have a strange suspiscion that rents - once they go up and regardless of when the worldwide economy settles down - will stay up. It's ridiculous over here - $350.00 (on average) a week for a poky two-bedroom place out the arse end of nowhere!

You're lucky to get a half decent flat for that here.

 Randy, I've got the perfect spot! :left: How do you feel about crickets? :D

I bought my first house for what people are using for a minimum down payment!

Crickets aren’t that bad  ...but if I see frogs on the lawn & gonna kill the owner of the house :ninja:

hmmmm lets see... in the West (where we are now) rent is the most expensive. ....we can move to another location but the traffic is so bad to get to work (in the west) will drive us insane. :insane: ..I went through 16 years of that & don't feel like doing that again.

Exchange Rate: $6.3tt = $1usd

a 3 bedroom house in the West starts at about $4000tt ($635usd) and maxes out at around $6000 ($952usd)

I think we are worse off that y'all :frown:

Of course you can get cheaper rent elsewhere in the west for a reasonable price... but the area will not be 'respectable'... crime is an issue. Lets just say you won't want your mom of wife etc to be alone in those areas.

I think Phil’s term deminomadic is quite apt

In New York, houses to rent cost $1200 +/- and up. Plus utilities,of course. That's for a one bedroom. 3 bedrooms run @ $1800! :insane: So. To move in somewhere, you need first months rent, last months rent and security(winds up being 3 mo. rent), :faint:
