I hear they are looking for ice up there. Seems a little, what is it you say, 'over the top' to go to Mars for ice. On the other hand, some beverages are immensely dull when not properly cooled.

Darko: We've been doomed for a long time; this is nothing new.

Martin: Global warming is forcing us to go to Mars for ice.
BTW, have you, perchance, read Asimov's The Martian Way? If not, here's a PDF:

A bit of interest in this landing it would seem. In a far away galaxy another planet's human equivalents are also landing a probe on their own nearby Mars.

I remember a 60's sci-fi movie called: The Forbidden Planet. The thematic premise being that this "forbidden" alien world was so terrible in it's potential for destruction that any more visits from Earth were strictly forbidden. However I suspect that if there were any techno-advanced alien worlds within "visiting" range of earth that it would be us--that is, earth that would be forbidden. alien

Classic early S-F film, yes. Turns out it was the Professor's subconscious causing the damage ... a perfect poltergeist.

Hi, Squeak.

Yes. The Alien technology was a super powered extention-tool acessed by the mind. My fav scene was when the robot, "robbie" I Think, was zooming across the surface of the planet at about 100 miles an hour.
