The Fiscal Treaty Referendum - Why we should vote NO.

"IRISHMEN AND IRISHWOMEN: In the name of God and of the dead generations from which she receives her old tradition of nationhood, Ireland, through us, summons her children to her flag and strikes for her freedom."
"We declare the right of the people of Ireland to the ownership of Ireland, and to the unfettered control of Irish destinies, to be sovereign and indefeasible"
These quotations from the 1916 Proclamation reminds us all of our debt to the men and women of the 1916 Rising and our duty to re-affirm and uphold the high ideals for which they fought and died in laying the foundations of this nation.
What patriotic Irishman can propose the adoption of a treaty that will commit the Irish Government and all future governments to a subservient role in the running of our affairs. The Fiscal Treaty will take away what remains of our independence and our right of self-determination. The belief in the fine ideals for which the founding fathers of this republic fought and died will, at a stroke, be cast aside in favour of rule by an unseen and unelected elite in Brussels and Frankfurt.
Beside it will lie the remains of other small nations in Europe, the right of self-determination of peoples and the independence of free nations.
It is time for the Irish people to reassert their independence and begin the arduous task of reclaiming their sovereignty.
This craven government of Fine Gael and Labour have abandoned the mandate given to them at the last election and are advocating the enslavement of Irish men, women and children for decades to come. Their illogical desire to impose shackles on their own ability to serve the Irish people's interests without let or hindrance is in sharp contrast to the bravery and sacrifices of the patriots of 1916.
The self-interest and grave errors of the political classes that have ruled this country must not prevail in the further subjugation of this nation to foreign rulers.
You have the chance to strike a blow for Irish freedom in the spirit of 1916.
Vote NO on May 31.
