A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON = SORROW
El tema de la canción coincide con el que ya desarrollaran en Time (The Dark Side of The Moon - 1973), esto es, el lamento ante el tiempo perdido (y con el los sueños de juventud). Pero en este caso la música, con el desgarrado solo, tiene un tono mas dramático. Así, el tema queda mucho mejor resuelto y se captan con facilidad los sentimientos de dolor y melancolía que se describen en el mensaje, en el cual se intuye a un hombre completamente frustrado a las puertas del suicidio.
