manyall of my search engine worries: delete "search.ini" in the Opera program folder! After that everything works like before. I can edit my searches and they actually stay intact. And there's no need to leave the (deactivated) default searches in my personal search.ini, I have deleted them with a text editor and they don't reappear.

but that:
"Rightclicking causes crashes in various contexts." is sad...

How about moving the search box from the top to the side of the speeddial entries (seeing that most screens are wider than tall, this gives a little more space for the thumbnails)
Are the speeddial pages loaded from disk cache or are they reloaded completely when I open them from the speeddial page?

Ah! The 'Adrenaline' website (http://www.adrenaline.com.br) can't show the abstract of the topics ('últimas do fórum', at left side) with newer versions of Opera. Really odd.
BTW, thanks and keep going.
Opera rules!

Any news when Mac smooth scrolling will befixed? It would make a hell of a difference!

Changing the properties of any widget to 'Always on Top' is ignored by Build 8758 upon successive re-openings of the said widget. After closing the widget upon selecting 'Always on Top' and re-opening the same widget, the widget displays as 'Normal' with the separate Windows taskbar entry display as a result.

http://www.bmw.com/ does not render correctly in Opera and it is not related at all to browser sniffing/detection. The page however, does appear to be fine on other browsers. Has very odd behavior. Click on the drop down menu and watch what happens...
Also, http://www.bmw.de/ complains about compatibility issues. Looks like I might need to open up a can of web on their...haha, well send them an email or something. I can't believe some companies. It's 2007 now and we still have sites that are golden oldies and are "Best viewed in Internet Explorer 4 with a screen resolution of 800x600.", lol, how lame. They should definitly be fixing the false warning. Works fine here. (requires shockwave for those wanting to test).
The "Google Bookmark" button is not working at all for me. Is this a known to not work in Opera already?
MeTaTRóN # 23. March 2007, 06:42
Bug confirmed. I use Win2000 Pro.
Rico Neubauer # 23. March 2007, 07:58
German umlauts are messed up in the MSI-installer (someone already wrote that).
Also: Who translated "speed dial" to "Schnellwahl"?

I think I will use it a lot from now on.
Congratulation! You got it right this time. Thank you!
P.S.: It would be great if the search box at the top of the speed dial was a combo box with all the search engine (already suggested).

When opening an URL from an outside program (e-mail, shortcut, or even the Run dialog), the page opens in the CURRENT tab, overwriting its contents. This is really annoying. Or did I miss something?
Of course, "Reuse current tab" is unchecked, as well as opera:config#UserPrefs|NewWindow is checked. Changing these two has absolutely NO effect.
In all despair I completely uninstalled Opera and reinstall from scratch, but this behavior persists. It appeared a couple of builds ago, I'm not quite sure.
Could someone find any advice? Thanks in advance.
(WinXP SP2, Opera Build 8758)

Thanks for this thursday weekly!
Only one thing, I'm italian and I use italian translation, but personally I prefer the english/international name "Speed Dial" to the italian translation "Accesso Rapido".
berend ytsma # 23. March 2007, 10:52
And why do you prefer that?
Soul Of Doinel # 23. March 2007, 11:17
I prefer that because it's underline that this beatiful tool was born for mobile phone and after developed for PC.
And because in Italy (and I think not only here) in informatics are used some english word and in this case, with the translation we lost something because "Accesso Rapido" is alredy used while "Speed Dial" is only for this and, seen the oneness of this feature, I like that it have a unique name.

No crashes so far!!

Even better, is it possible to give a 'position' to the searchbox?? (Top/bottom right/left)- this would be a help for those using 'startbar' - it will only close when an 'active element' is clicked..(the searchbox)
yes, the speeddial has the same properties as 'blankpage' ie, inactive.. unless you can remove the 'inactive' property, and just click the 'blankspace' as usual???

When I click one time, favicon just flashes but nothing happens...
Hope it can fixed very soon, annoying bug :-/

Also, the thumbnails on the windows panel are useful when many tabs are opened.

I find the shared build will seg fault when I spell checking on CentOS 4.4. Anyone else has this issue of is it my just my box? Works nice on my WinXP and Mac OS X box.
Thanks

It means than in this bild rightclicking causes crashes in various contexts and it is very sad...
I pay attention to this problem
Something wrong?
SteveKong # 23. March 2007, 14:06
And I've figured another problem. Since several versions the encoding option in use (View -> Encoding; e.g. "automatic selection") is no longer checked. I am using the international MSI-Installer, German local, but interface in English.
