9.2 Ready for the world!
By borg. Wednesday, 11. April 2007, 09:31:55
Finally! 9.2 is launched today. Thank you all for valuable help in making this happen!
9.2 is not only an important update with bug fixes and the new Speed Dial functionality, it's also a milestone in spreading Opera to new users around the world: Opera 9.2 for Windows ships with 31 languages
The latest addition is Macedonian, so if you know the language, feel free to post a small celebration message in the comments section
Remember that we also have a number of forums where you can discuss Opera in your own language.
If you haven't done so already, please go to opera.com/download and get your brand new Opera.

What's changed from 8767?
Once again, I don't see a changelog anywhere
By _deXter_, # 11. April 2007, 11:49:34
Opera web page still shows Opera 9.1 as new.

Also, there's no mention of the libx11 issue here: http://www.opera.com/docs/changelogs/linux/920/sincebeta.dml
By Tracio, # 11. April 2007, 12:08:17
Doesn't have the changelog since 8767.
Once again, does anyone know what's changed since 8767?

waiting for 10.0
By CaseyJ, # 11. April 2007, 12:40:32
Well... but before you think you're ready forever, please think about:
#1 - fixing the .kml link issue with Google Earth (.kml files are displayed as XML in the browser window instead of opening GE, see bug report); Firefox and even IE have no problems with it.
#2 - adding an opera:config option for using HTTP1.1 over a proxy which is not capable of pipelining (HTTP 1.0 is used in this case but it is much slower without persistent connections). Firefox and IE allow this.
Cheers
Herwig
EDIT, regarding item #1: I entered the MIME type application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml with kml as extension in Opera, configuring download/open to be displayed. For details see:
http://earth.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=25094
And, hurra!, it works, .kml files now show the open/download box instead of displaying xml garbage.

nice changelog
By Khaled Khalil, # 11. April 2007, 12:45:48
You could probably fix that by editing your preferences in Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Downloads. Un-check "hide extensions opened by Opera", then search for KML, then click edit to change the extension behavior.

operadef6.ini
These files deleted from a distributive the pair of months back.
Not fixed bugs with Cyrillic (problem with open MHT-file, errors in translation, etc).

Yet another example of the great work you guys made in order to address the libx11 issue (the fact that it happened in easter holidays and it was a nasty one makes it even more impressive).

Now, if only InstallShield could support as many languages as Opera does (or plans to).

I have in my Bookmarks 'my.opera.com/desktopteam' site, saved with 'opera beta' nickname. Now, when I've entered "opera beta" in address bar, it openes google page: http://www.google.pl/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=opera+beta&sourceid=opera&num=100&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8. In previous version it works fine.
If you would like to update my report with more information, please send an email to: bug-259956@you know what.
