Happy birthday Jon

Our fearless, peerless leader Jon turned 40 today, and what he wants more than anything for this birthday is for us to provide our community with an alpha version of Kestrel. And to celebrate his birthday, we are happy to announce that we are planning to release the first build next Tuesday!

The first Kestrel build will include some cool new features and tons of bug fixes, but as it's an alpha it will still be buggy. We need your help improving the quality as fast as possible.

Oh and you will finally see what's hiding on the Status Bar. ;-)

Happy Birthday Jon and many many thanks for the selfless birthday wish to the DesktopTeam! Even though it will benefit you by helping the desktop version make news once again :wink:, I still think it is a very generous things to ask for from the DesktopTeam for your birthday! Too bad you didn't specify that you wanted them to release it on your birthday, hehe. But many thanks either way. We have all be waiting (patiently at times, but unbearably anxious at others, lol). I wish you the best of days on your 40th birthday!

It's about time the Opera developers integrated porn into the Status Bar. I've made several complaints about how much time it takes me to get to a site using the speed dial, but now that it comes directly through the Opera software, now my only bottleneck will be actually launching the software. :smile:

Please please make kestrel not suck on linux! I love Opera and want to use it on my KDE desktop :smile:

- Make it use KDE for stuff like file-saving etc
- Make it integrate with KDE's defaults like any other program, instead of INSISTING everything be opened in the gnome-counterparts
- Speedimprovements (tabs-switching etc)

Other than that, it's great!

To all at Opera, thanks for ruining my weekend, there is no way I will sleep between now and next Tuesday, knowing what's instore! :-)

Me, I don't care for what's hidden on the status bar, I am interested in the OperaMail improvements, I will be hammering it hard, and reporting any issues I come across.

Are there any improvements on the bug trackign system, last time I reported things, they seem to fall into a feedback-less black hole... :-(

Based on my opinions, those tests are inaccurate. The test is done on a MAC.
