aleksanteri 21. September 2007, 15:15

There's a "0" missing in "opera-static_9.50-20070920.1-static-qt_i386.deb".. it should be "opera-static_9.50-20070920.10-static-qt_i386.deb"

lamarca 21. September 2007, 15:16

great! a new kestrel test build

Doliprane 21. September 2007, 15:16

csant 21. September 2007, 15:18

Non-Troppo, see known issues list

Camus 21. September 2007, 15:19

Nice to see the operapluginwrapper issue fixed!

Thanks a lot!

migatron 21. September 2007, 15:20

good. still no tab-behaviour customising  and still old feed-reader... :frown:

EricJH 21. September 2007, 15:23

Installed it. Let's see how it behaves after the all anonymous stability fixes...

WOFall 21. September 2007, 15:26

Installed

How many alphas will there be before the beta?
It's looking like there will be a fair few.

Kildor 21. September 2007, 15:30

big thanks for BUG 284852, Now I can to upgrade from 9500 4)

Kuja-IX 21. September 2007, 15:31

Thanks for your work, continue to build the best Kestrel as possible

Soleen 21. September 2007, 15:32

I was waiting for this release, but unfortunately it is not usable on Solaris :frown:
~$ opera --personaldir newop
Bus Error (core dumped)

Right after launch, this is static build.

On S10 and S9 the error is the same, but I had T1 proc. To verify that it is not because of T1, I ran it on Ultra Sparc IV with S11_b72, the core dump is a little more descriprive on s11:
~$ op --pd newop
*** libc thread failure: take_deferred_signal(): __sigresend() failed
Abort (core dumped)

eisteh 21. September 2007, 15:32

@WOFall: How should someone know after how many alphas a product gets beta status? Depends pretty much on how many issues appear that prevent Kestrel being in the state of getting called a beta version.

I love this new alpha  The 2nd Snapshot made me switch back to 9.23 - this build will hopefully make me stick to 9.5 a bit longer (switching back to 9.23 was a hard desicion )

fearphage 21. September 2007, 15:33

I can not confirm that gmail is working again (64bit xp). Its just in some infinite loop.

Tracio 21. September 2007, 15:35

Last two builds have overwritten my opera6.adr from 9.23, this was mentioned last week here in the comments but I guess there's no bug report? is it known?.

Also, fraud protection is enabled by default since last weekly...
shared .6 and .9 running from tarballs.

FataL 21. September 2007, 15:36

Lots of SVG fixes.

Still very buggy when SVG as backgouns is zoomed.

Files are now correctly saved with file extensions.

...but still saves any XML-like formats (XSD, XSL, etc.) with XML extension.

9Val 21. September 2007, 15:37

Same problem - Alt+LeftShift switches input box to RightToLeft mode, which is completely useless, I'm not using any RTL language.
Forgot to say, that Alt+LeftShift is used very-very often because it switches my keyboard layout.

SoulOfDoinel 21. September 2007, 15:47

Great !!
Another step to the perfection.

alexs 21. September 2007, 15:47

Thanks for this build, but another (redirect) translate URL please.
babelfish.yahoo.com

Wade 21. September 2007, 15:47

"The operapluginwrapper should not take 100% CPU anymore."

Yes, please thank you!

NovemberDobby 21. September 2007, 15:49

Good.

But content blocker seems to fail a lot...anyone else?

t1gershark 21. September 2007, 15:50

Thanks for fixing the bookmark issue.
New Problem on Win XP:
If you click on "Hide Speed Dial" it's impossible to enable
Speed Dial in the same tab again, becaus "Show Speed Dial"
is not reacting.
To solve this you have to open a new tab.

Aphenitry 21. September 2007, 15:53

Here's to hoping the history-feature on unix does not lock up everything while entering an URL

andresruiz 21. September 2007, 15:57

@FataL
+ 1
it still saves in wrong fie extension.
At hotmail, I downloaded a .pps file and it downloads it as .aspx and tries to open it with Windows Media Player

So I don't know what they mean when say

Files are now correctly saved with file extensions.

Maybe they mean about extensions when you save an image with "save image..." now it works, great. but it still open the Transfers Tab, that's annoying. So the extensions issue was half solved.

But thanks a lot for this great new build.

ferrisnox 21. September 2007, 15:57

With the new build I noticed when I try to customize my button layout the buttons are all missing except for the "Defaults" category. The rest of the categories are empty.
Thanks

Junyor 21. September 2007, 15:59

@ferrisnox: Please read the known issues list.

keanebean86 21. September 2007, 15:59

Wow, after reading all the know issues, I would hate to see a pre-alpha version of Kestrel!

cancel 21. September 2007, 16:09

Tooltips for hyperlinks bug is still alive.
Cached Images bug is still alive.
:frown:

melnichuck 21. September 2007, 16:10

great thing! but i was hoped Alt+Shift form text alignment issue will be removed :frown: very annoying... sorry

gun 21. September 2007, 16:15

There are still some bugs with file extensions:
Ctrl+Click on an avatar with image here in Comments -> Its's saved as html
Ctrl+Click on an avatar without image -> It's saved as gif
In both cases, the file extension is not shown behind the filname in save dialog.

eblade 21. September 2007, 16:20

Wow, GMail looks -awful- in this build.

On the bright side, it does scroll correctly.

It looks really bad, though. Everything used to line up nice and neat and orderly, and now it's kinda messy, in the message index. It looks sort of like the Basic View did, but it's in the advanced view.

Also, the Quick Contacts are drawing in big boxes over the message index.

Other than that, this looks great.. I hope that Gmail is fixed within a week or so, so I don't have to go and use IE. :D

thesuperstereo 21. September 2007, 16:24

yeah, my.ebay.de login works again.
let's go shopping.

@gun: for me Ctrl+Click saving works with right extension.
seems some problems like my ebay-login-failure are user-dependent.

Bill_P 21. September 2007, 16:26

"cached images" still does not work properly/consistently
- changing from f-t-w loads all images
- some sites washingtonpost.com works correctly, nytimes.com not

jarinkirill 21. September 2007, 16:26

>gun>Ctrl+Click on an avatar with image here in Comments -> Its's saved as html

Cannot confirm with your avatar (PNG), but it's true with Junior's and others JPEG avatars.

9Val 21. September 2007, 16:40

@melnichuck, seems you have the same problem...

geodimo 21. September 2007, 16:46

also blogspot blogs don't appear ok

underman 21. September 2007, 16:50

Same problem as #21.

When i open Opera, the speedials buttons aren't reactive and clicking them doesn't do anything. Have to open a new tab so they start being "active" again =)

(note: ctrl+1,2,3... still works fine though )

Wade 21. September 2007, 16:54

right click ->search not working

Block Content seems to not blocking new ads

Bill_P 21. September 2007, 16:56

"fraud protection" is on and can't be disabled

actually the "?" icon shows, when clicked says its disabled, also says it can't connect to sitecheck.opera.com

Bill_P 21. September 2007, 16:58

@wade
right click ->search not working works for me

hzr 21. September 2007, 17:02

> The operapluginwrapper should not take 100% CPU anymore.

Thanks for that :-)

kennycrudup 21. September 2007, 17:13

WOOT! Flash works! (I see y'all had to pretty much include GTK to do it- I'd right-clicked on the active flash plane!)
