Yet another snapshot build
By Cato. Friday, 29. February 2008, 15:20:40
WARNING: These are development snapshots: they contain the latest changes, but they also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, they may not work at all.
Here's yet another snapshot build. This build fixes a few outstanding download issues. In particular, we now respect filename suggestions in content-disposition: attachment headers. Testing is needed, however, as this build will introduce some download regressions. We've already caught some internally, but there are probably others.
We've also updated search.ini a bit in this build:

Testing is needed, however, as this build will introduce some download regressions. We've already caught some internally, but there are probably others.
We've also updated search.ini a bit in this build:
- Removed Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo! Answers, Google Groups, Opera Support, and Download.com searches
- Added Wikipedia and Google Images searches
Known issues
- "Open With" other browsers doesn't work
- Save As for a web page only lets you save as "HTML file" on Windows
- Unable to print pages with objects or iframes
- Some downloads do not appear in the transfer manager
- Inline find stops working after entering one letter (using Ctrl/Cmd+F still works as expected)
- Keyboard input is problematic for some people on Mac
- The progress bar does not show if it's set to "Pop-up at the bottom"
Changelog
- Fixed IMAP and POP synchronization problems
- RSS items that are already read are not shown in the notification anymore
- It is now possible to set Opera as default mail application from Control Panel
- When right-clicking in Speed Dial search field you you can easily reach the "Search options"
- Fixed cut-n-pasting bookmark folders
- Fixed selecting or creating a new bookmark file with Sync
- "Save to download folder" works again
- Context menu in transfers panel now work again when no other tabs are open
- Content-disposition: attachment filename suggestion now respected when saving files
- Fixed saving multiple files from the links panel
- Some initial implementation for flipping scrollbars on RTL web sites (to permanently flip, enable opera:config#UserPrefs|Left-handedUI)
- Fixed problem finding new POP messages when using the "Leave messages on server" setting
- Better search results when using Quick find in Opera Mail
Windows specific:
- File open/save dialogs are resizable again
- Fixed a crash on startup on Windows 98
Mac specific:
- Opera now works again in Mac OS X 10.3.9.
- Fixed scrollbars to not loose their blue color
- Fixed unread count in Dock icon
- Some stability fixes to plugins
UNIX specific:
- Prevent GTK from changing the global locale settings - this would occasionally make text disappear or shrink on web pages after using the GTK filechooser
- Autoscroll/pan now appears where clicked, not in middle of page
- Fixed plugin detection for .1 and .5 builds
- Several more plugin fixes

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....
Back to an old weekly for me. I simply can't live without . find, and all week I have been reassuring myself that after 3 weeks of it being borked, it must be fixed this week, surely...
There seems to be lots of lingering problems, that never seem to get fixed, like the F12, Site Prefs, Cookies not showing, and quite a few others I forget at the moment, but come acess regularly.
I have my "sweet build", where most things work pretty well, that I will go back to, it's quite old now, but works well. Far too many regressions being introduced recently, with no enough being removed. The last few weeklies have been crash-fests...
MyOpera team, please fix this! # 29. February 2008, 16:10

That means they already know so you don't need to mention it.

Does this mean that I can save XSD, XSL documents with correct extension?.. Will see in a moment...
So, Opera now can save JPE extension

thanks again for this new build. But I have found (20 minuts ago) a svg-script or page that crashes this an last build:
http://svglbc.datenverdrahten.de/?doc=cloneNode&znr=on
A click on the blue rect crashes my opera under winxp.

I've a strange problem, if you open a page with Javascript
turned on andthen turn off again after the page has loaded,
no links on the page are clickable.

This is getting too annoying. Leave it like this next time and you lose a tester
"Added Wikipedia and Google Images searches"
I already had set the EN wikipedia search for w, but without the &go=Go in the submit URL. The new search shouldn't have been added for the same keyword w.

yes I confirm: with Emil theme the menu bar became blue.
Another bug: progress bar doesn't work if setted to "popup at bottom".
Mark Gillespie # 29. February 2008, 18:09
The fact it got broken, and has stayed broken, yet seemingly minor things get corrected clearly shows either a lack of understanding, or a lack of prioritization.
Gabry89 # 29. February 2008, 18:10
Especially pages with this CSS http://www.css3.info/preview/rounded-border/
but but also others don't work...

The MSI works on none of my sytems, giving an Error 1926

The Classic, which I use because of above, creates a silly zero byte shortcut on my desktop, with the title of the install drive letter.
A broken shortcut called "Z" with no icon, that does not launch Opera is very unhelpful.

Another feature that isn't working yet is the URI fragment issue, bug 311914. That is, clicking the Last post or New post links in My Opera still doesn't work.
Glad my mail bug appears to be fixed though.

Movie pages don't finish loading (progress bar displays something like "Elements: 66/66", clicking links on the page doesn't do anything until I hit escape/stop).
The same with the ajaxy rating function: Hangs forever. Rating appears after pressing escape/stop, but it's gone after a page refresh.

You write again about better support for plugins on Linux. What about SWFDEC? I can't make it work while it works fine in Firefox.
João David # 29. February 2008, 19:12
I have tryied to delete both Opera and profile folders and do a clean install but that did not solve the problem.
Using Windows Vista Home Edition 32bit with default skins both in Opera and in Vista.

The buggy inline find really is annoying, and now with the progress bar not working when set to "Pop-up at bottom" this snapshot just isn't useable for me. Better luck next Friday, maybe?
