I had an issue with downloading ISO file just 10 minutes ago.
p.s. can you make the transfer tab not lose any info for downloaded files, and not showing the temp files for the RSS feeds ? ;p

by the way,
are there any means to change highlighting of UI elements back to yellow-ish instead of new blue-ish??
(was introduced in the 10024 build)

As every other program I use, I install with the standard settings. I've used the MSI installer and installed Opera in C:\Program Files\Opera 9.5 Beta
As usual I got icons in the first Opera session. After closing Opera and reopening it, the icons disappeared as usual.

Seems much better so far. A bit snappier, and the "blank back" issue when navigating to links that open in a new tab seems to have been fixed. Progressbar at bottom seems to be working better too. Good work!

Very odd. DragonFly also will not launch for me (it did prior to this update).
EDIT: Judging by the comments the update is applying but not updating the build number as many are seeing the 10024 build number from the previous release.

EDIT: Worked once - now cshes Opera

like this http://operawatch.com/category/news/opera-tutorial entering comment and pressing back, sometimes crashes, sometimes not

To be honest speeddial would be much more useful if you could put multiple ones rather than just 9. At work I have about 20 sites I'd love to throw on there; it would make things easier.

As for upgrading, I never uninstall then re-install as upgrade should work and if it doesn't work, I'd like to make sure Opera is aware of it for when 9.5 offically launches

BTW, you didn't answer my previous questions:
1) What major problems with UAC?
2) Was UAC on or off when you installed Opera? And is it on or off now?
@Eric, so reading the last thread, now that you know how to fix the problem (correct the paths in that Opera protocol Registry branch, and anything else in there not right), I take it you're looking for a way for Opera to do it itself (with "Check if Opera is default browser") on the theory that it's a bug and not some leftover complication from having other Operas on the system? If I get time, I'll try it on a virgin Vista system to see what's created in the protocol area. I agree that Opera should be handle both dirty and clean systems.

You are right. I wanted to say "some opera user settings files". Like you've said, in December Opera moved the settings profile files from "C:\program files" to "c:\Documents and settings" (C:\Users in Vista). Since then, the problems started.
Now, answer to you questions:
1. The problems with UAC are this one I am describing: having to run Opera as admin to make it run "normally". Opera should be supposed to run without any "trick". And having to run it as admin I consider that it is not normal. And this problem does not affect only the icons. Opera also gets slow and sometimes stops responding when opening or closing tabs, when running it normal which does NOT happen when running it as admin.
2. As I've said, everything is default in my laptop, so UAC was and it is turned ON as default.
