is still not working correctly (compare to FF)

I think it is a JS problem that can be fixed by userjs?

Ryan 25. June 2008, 13:13

Top menu bar in the new Myspace.com layout is not working. Unable to navigate through the drop downs.

thanks for the new build!

any progress with PGO builds in linux?

graste 25. June 2008, 13:24

Is that tinyMCE fix working on version 3.xx as well? The enter bug is seriously annoying - and I don't even have wordpress.

Ricardo 25. June 2008, 13:28

:headbang: Fixed menus on deviantart.com

yeah !!!! :headbang:

Vygantas 25. June 2008, 13:30

Haven't downloaded this one yet, but:

1. Does it have "Properties" when clicking right mouse button on transfer?
2. If I close Opera and open it again, will it have my finished transfers in the transfers window ir they will be removed like in 9.5 Final, Pre 9.51?

miki69 25. June 2008, 13:42

Will it be possible to fix gallery issue ( i have posted this question several times):
http://www.mobilnisvet.com/mobilni-slike-uzivo/1675/Nokia/N78/1/1

Both IE and FF show gallery "as they should", but for some reason it's wrong in Opera (instead of gallery thumbs, you see all thumbs in one line). Or this is related to this specific site?

In general: If something works ok with IE and FF, how should I know if this is an Opera issue (and report problem) or website admin issue?

Opera 9.51 RC1 (build 2052) - PCLinuxOS - gcc 4, qt 4

1. 9.51 RC1 reverted my choice of background color (light gray) to white. It seemed to inherit every other setting from the build 2050 settings, however.

2. Turning off the pop-up/dropdown search-as-you-type still also disables any and all new entries to the manual dropdown recent history of typed in URLs. (Please tell me this isn't a "feature.")

ptok 25. June 2008, 13:54

@tomurbanowicz: opera:cache is working fine. I had the same problem before. This is a matter of bad/outdated config. Please tryout fresh opera install, or try playing a little with your config files. That also solve my other problems with opera.

João David 25. June 2008, 13:57

Problems with flash videos still remain. Video stops playing after 2 seconds and without sound. Will this ever be corrected by devs?

Daniel 25. June 2008, 13:58

@micfey

correct , youtube videos are again "broken" :frown:
changing back to #10071

Tomasz Urbanowicz 25. June 2008, 13:58

@ptok:
If you enabled "Empty on Exit" opera:cache is not working fine.

Nico 25. June 2008, 14:06

@ piroxicam: I have no problems with Flash Videos. Can you give us an example?

Additional, try the following things:

- Install the latest Flash-Plugin from Adobe
- Do a clean install of Opera

Willem Nuijen 25. June 2008, 14:15

Apart from the opera:cache not working I also have the issue that 'Delete Private Data' does not clear the cache directory (manually set) at all.

DD32 25. June 2008, 14:25

> Is that tinyMCE fix working on version 3.xx as well? The enter bug is seriously annoying - and I don't even have wordpress.

According to the TinyMCE authors, Thats been caused by a bug in Opera over the last few major versions, and the Opera-hack was to be removed in the next stable release..

(Going off 2nd hand information here, possibly 3rd)

Context menu's in the transfers tab is something that a supprisingly large number of people have complained about in a forum i use.. I never even noticed it disapear

Anil 25. June 2008, 14:29

This bug is not fixed!!! A very nasty BUG!!

bug-342122-s79

But these dopes are always good for me!!

Milan Petrovic 25. June 2008, 14:32

TinyMCE build in Wordpress still doesn't work as it should. When you press Enter, new line appears, but not after the current cursor position. Insead new line is added before current paragraph. It's very annoing to have to switch to HTML editor to make new paragraph.

Also, download form few sites is broken, and files are saved with wrong extension (exe instead of msi, php instead of anything...).

I hope to see this issues resolved in 9.51.

Also, one suggestion: Currently Feeds are only visible in a Main Menu. I would like to see Feeds in Sidebar, but I don't want to use Mail features to do that. Can you make sepparate Feed Sidebar Panel regardless of Mail feature?

Luis Carlos Carvalho 25. June 2008, 14:40

Thank you for a further build.

I have some criticisms / constructive suggestions to make to be launched before the final version of Opera 9.51

-- Solving the Bug where to access the source code (CTRL + U), if we save with the same name as another file, Opera warns that there is not a file with the same name.

-- The favicons the search engine did not correspond to the sites favicons. For example, google, uses as a favicon "g" tiny, and the search engine, is a former favicon with a "G" capital.

-- The setup of the international version, in a situation where we have two partitions of hard disk (C and D), and if we make the installation of Opera on the partition D, the file "profile" is installed on the partition C. Please correct this and install everything we do in the partition in the installation of the Opera.

-- Enable notice of default to the email sent. It is very useful for novice users.

-- And I ask that launched a RC2, where the setup, we could choose all settings (including skin, or all the default that Opera had 9.2. Is the "view bar," is not "the status bar , "Is not new button" panels "button or the new" Top ". The shortcuts are the default of 9.2, etc.) Standard Opera 9.2 or by settings (including skin) 9.5 standard. And next to each, include a thumbnail.
This is the best way to protect users and older who have no expertise to set Opera so that it is the old way. And leaving the possibility that a future user of the Opera, the choice of settings that suit you assemlha for Firefox and Internet Explorer.
It was a good way to test the reaction of users of Opera in the face of this option.

-- Solving the bug with the plugin Adobe Acrobat. Unable to open internally pdf's in Opera 9.51.

I have many more suggestions, but not for Opera 9.51.

It was great if all these suggestions that were mentioned here.

Luis Carlos Carvalho 25. June 2008, 14:42

Solving the bug.

-- saving an image will open download tab as when I download a file: in Opera 9.27 saving an image didn't open a tab!!!

Tim Altman 25. June 2008, 14:43

@tomurbanowicz: What bug IMAP/BCC bug? Bug number? How is opera:cache broken when you use "Empty on Exit"?

@graste: Yes, TinyMCE 3.x should work. Make sure you do a Check for Updates to get the latest browser.js.

@GDragoN: Do a Check for Updates to get the latest browser.js.

@ItGuillaume: What's broken about opera:cache?

@cranil7: We've e-mailed you asking for a crash log but haven't heard back.

Kostia Romanov 25. June 2008, 14:49

Could you fix a bug with drag und drop selected texts in one textarea? current selected text doesn`t move but copy. Or add special behaviour, with CtrlDrag copy text, and Drag move?

PS: Yes, I know, this is not place to request.. $)

sebastian schuster 25. June 2008, 14:53

Random 100% CPU bug still not fixed (present since the last pre-rc). Used for 5 minutes, clicked on SpeeDial for the first time with this build and there it was. When it happened one time during a sessions it happens on every window/tab opening afterwards :/

show-stopping/crashing bug-338168 still present in this build!

pressing F11 when a video using the WMP plugin is playing back in a non-maximized tab crashes opera.

Is Opera ever going to fix the youtube/embedded Flash display issue in Google Reader? I've seen it on Mac and Windows, and here's a video showing it on Linux: http://youtube.com/watch?v=1NdP7iLXD2k&feature=related

It verges on making Reader unusable in Opera if there is a video in any feed, since it's actually worse than that video shows: visual artifacts from the video controls are usually left all over the page, the only way to get rid of them is to refresh the entire feed. It appears to be an Opera bug rather than Google not testing (or even caring, as is usually the case) in Opera.

I know this issue has been reported as a bug to Opera and also has shown up on forums quite often. It's been around ever since Reader worked in Opera, or since version 8 I think. And yes, I have tried other feed readers, but found none that compared to Reader. If anybody from Opera is working on this issue, I'd love to know about it.

Luis Carlos Carvalho 25. June 2008, 15:17

I will present some sites that worked properly with Opera since version 9.27 and 9.5 do not work properly:

-- In the community hi5 (http://www.hi5.com), since version 9.5 which is not possible to make the description of the photos as you can see in these images (http://www.uploadimagens.com/upload/030a1ee73a46fa9b781991b8b0bf876a.jpg) and (http://www.uploadimagens.com/upload/eed12dca65df5a9d588f9b0368e1c492.jpg) And now you can see what happens in Opera 9.27 and correctly (http://www.uploadimagens.com/upload/e477c01dd542497870dda59d6fdb878b.jpg)

-- In http://www.animepaper.net/ site, on top of the page, the login no longer appear.

-- In the site of the Ford Portugal (http://www.ford.pt), the dropdown menu, began to appear upright instead be horizontal.

-- On the website of UTAD (http://www.utad.pt) from the Opera 9.5 which is too leave blank space in the bottom of the page (bottom of page).

miki69 25. June 2008, 15:18

@Ineluki,

try CTRL+B, that should work. In 9.50 there is Paste and Go under search.

rmadeira 25. June 2008, 15:20

Aleluia!!! At least someone fixed the mouses gestures! thanks!

paolo22177 25. June 2008, 15:25

I installed both 9.50 and 9.51 RC1 and I noticed some differences from 9.27 in email section.

- in 9.50/9.51 there is no longer the popup notification (at bottom right) when sending email.

- in 9.50/9.51 the "white envelope" in systray (that indicate new mail incoming) appears only at startup of Opera.
This icon should appear even while Opera is running...but doesn't happen!

I don't know if these are bugs or a choice,
but for me are very useful and I hope will be restored...

miki69 25. June 2008, 15:25

@tamil,

I have also noticed this since v9.50. Not a big deal but quite annoying , everything was ok with 9.27 (small "g" in search bar)

KoenDeVreeze 25. June 2008, 15:27

A page saved as web archive (for instance http://www.w3.org/html/wg/html5/ )(.mht) has errors in the source. The letters "3D" come up like class=3D"something". And there is a second scrollbar in the document. No problems with Opera 9.27, don't know about 9.50.

PiTRiS 25. June 2008, 15:28

hooray for devart browse working correctly now

but my other "favorite" bugs are still there:

1) various forms are still filled up after succesful sending
2) double click to select non-holtlinked web address still does not work
3) videos on (for example) this site http://tbbt123.ic.cz/0107.html (flash video) still does not work

zoquete 25. June 2008, 15:29

Sitting at 600Mhz :'( Opera works very well, youtube-videos are played, I have NEVER seen "fucked up" menu, piroxicam. May be you should delete your probably jurassic opera6.ini before critize developers.

Dustin Wilson 25. June 2008, 15:31

Bug #319793 gencon regression is still present. It began somewhere in 9.5's beta development. Here's a test case for it:

http://dustinwilson.com/operabugs/319793.html

Great job. Already a release candiate two weeks after a release. \o/

Tim Altman 25. June 2008, 15:35

@King Crimson: Opening the Transfer page when saving an image is by design. You can disable the Transfer page using the View button on that page. Try changing the "When closing a tab" options in Prefs > Advanced > Tabs to get the setup you want. Visited links work fine here.

@zipatei: Google has asked us not to use the new favicon. Opening the download tab when saving images is by design.

@sacharja: Please make a freeze log using IIXII Inspector.

@Tamil: Thank you.

@Koen_: The 3Ds are part of QP encoding, which is sometimes used when saving pages as MHTML.
