Any idea why Opera is adding the following path in OperaDef6.ini?

Plugin Path=D:\Apps\Opera\Program\Plugins;D:\Apps\Opera\\program\plugins\;D:\Apps\Mozilla Firefox\plugins;

What's the purpose of that double backslash? Doesn't make any sense to me.
Each time I uninstall and install a new build it's adding that path. I guess it's saved somewhere in the registry.

It's been doing that for a while now. What's up with that?

I forget it does this because I always clean out all plugin paths other than the one to Opera's own designated plugin folder on every install.

Yep, same here.

Edit:
I've found the registry value where it's saved:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Opera\main\Plugins Directory

Probably a bug.

chivitli 11. July 2008, 14:03

eh, still no fix for contrast between tabs on windows native theme :frown:
isn't that job that can be done in 2 minutes at most?

Don´t Fixes an issue where "Mark all as read" in M2 would also mark as read some mails not visible in the current view.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

another bug that funny is: opera deklar the site http://de.advfn.com/ as a login for mobil phones but it`s a site for stocks as you can see it by ffox3

Scrolling the windows panel eats a lot of cpu! I disabled thumbnails when hovering tabs and windows panel (don't want it) but it doesn't seem to free any resources. I haven't tried all the snapshots but this probably happened when this feature was introduced. It wouldn't surprise me if this is why Opera eats so much more memory nowadays.

I don't actually understand why it's there in the first place, since it doesn't even seem to be used -- the one in opera6.ini is.

Still, the path line in the copy of Opera I used during the 9.5 is beta pretty impressive: 3,771 characters. Opera certainly want to be sure of the path.

Merijn 11. July 2008, 14:32

olli: it looks like all the javascript and css is not parsed. Screenshot: http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?image=opera952greaderct9.jpg

Sorry for not being more clear. I hope this is a problem on my end.
[edit]
Yep, it is. Home computer has no problems. Nevermind!

wile-e-wonka 11. July 2008, 14:36

@acale75
I can't use the msi installer on my work computer, but I can use the classic installer. My guess, though, is that this is all more up to your network administrator than the installer--given that this is a program that could potentially be used dangerously and your administrator may not want to have to support it and any conflicts that it may cause (of course Opera is safer than the alternatives and also not likely to cause conflicts...but try to convince your network administrator of this).

Benjamin 11. July 2008, 14:41

Yes a new release

It's impossible to use mobileme with opera (apple doesn't want opera users...). Is there any solution to make it functionnal ?

The double backslash in the plugin path value has been like that for a while. I filed it as Bug 275774 a while ago.

There is still a bug in showing the AVM-Fritz!Box GUI (ONLY in Opera).
Turn ON the DHCP-Server will pop up a message with "DHCP-deaktivated".
Turn OFF the DHCP-Server will pop up "DHCP-aktivated".
Can someone confirm?

(Fritz!Box 7170 & 7270 tested)

confirmed. strange. adress is http://fritz.box/cgi-bin/webcm?getpage=../html/de/system/pp_netipadr.html&var:lang=de&var:oneip=1 and should be http://fritz.box/cgi-bin/webcm?getpage=../html/de/system/pp_netipadr.html&var:lang=de&var:oneip=0

From what I've observed Opera reads that line in OperaDef6.ini when it's launched for the first time and adds all those paths to opera:config#UserPrefs|PluginPath. That's why I always make sure to edit my OperaDef6.ini prior to launching Opera after installing a new build so I don't end up with that faulty path entry in my Opera config.

Des1277 11. July 2008, 21:26

Resused addresses in the pull down address bar still do not move to the top of the list. Still not d/l from many download windows, particularly if a .pdf file is trying to d/l.
Crashes after being unable to d/l the pdf automatically.

If I up grade back to version 9.27 will that mess up my locally stored mail messages in Opera?

adrianiss 11. July 2008, 21:29

1. http://www.speedtest.net/ still with horizontal scrollbar.
2. Back button now works. Forward button doesn't. http://www.overclockers.ru/ - click any link, go back and than try to go forward.

The key words there are "first time" -- clean installs. On upgrades, it certainly doesn't do that, or my PluginPath would be book-length by now and this would have been fixed long ago. So I don't think anyone has to really bother with manually adjusting this.

I still don't believe it, but you have finally managed to fix it!

This does look like a site reported by alf 245 at the blog, in Opera 9.51 RC1...

First of all there is no scrollbar at page if you're not activate it by your settings...

...and if you click on one of the flags on that site, it's going to that page, but it keeps jumping to the top of page if you try to scroll down...

I dunno if this is reported as a bug or not though...

Digging articles, viewing comments and writing comments on digg.com STILL does not work. hasnt been working sense 9.5b
Version 9.52
Build 2065
Platform Linux

I have a problem with hotmail too. From 9.51, after i enter user name, password, i am stuck at the

Windows Live Hotmail
Loading... page

and the link that loads the classic version isn't working.

naveride 12. July 2008, 09:19

trash icon still wont be more colorful if a popup was blocked. bug exists since the first beta version of opera 9.5 and i reported it a long time ago.

elyon 12. July 2008, 09:20

Oh great!

You fixed ExternalInterface for Flash 8! Thank you!

abbiji 12. July 2008, 10:07

Hi Olli,
This build is, ofcourse, a better one.
However, webarchive is still buggy. I'm very unhappy about this.
Opera9.27 could save any page in webarchive. 9.50,1,2 couldn't. Just try to save pages from MSNBC in webarchive. Nothing happens. Try to save free dictionary pages in webarchive. Opera fails.
I always save pages in webarchive. It keeps my HD less cluttered up.
Now I browse these pages with Opera9.50,1,2 then replace the Opera.dll with Opera.dll of 9.5 alpha 9523 and save the pages in webarchive.
Pages from NYtimes.com can be saved in webarchive but Opera9.50,1,2 cannot open the saved pages in the normal way (as Opera 9.27 did). To open them I have to enable Javascript and create a 'localhost' option in 'site preferences' with javscript not enabled. Why is this circumlocution? Many other sites show this problem.
I hope you have some other trick.

Groovy 12. July 2008, 10:13

@naveride: confirmed and agree on trash icon.

Licaon 12. July 2008, 10:24

I can't access www.gmail.com with builds 2061/2065 64bit and 10081/10089 32bit, it just stays saying "Setting up a secure connection...", tested with or without a new profile, with or without my normal HOSTS file, tested on 2 different ISPs.

Builds 2059/2052 and lower, Konqueror and IE8beta work as expected.

Zafer ARICAN 12. July 2008, 11:06

@pejakm: You are right. It was linux qt4 build. I tried with qt3 build and it did not have this problem.

David 12. July 2008, 11:09

@ Licaon: I can confirm that here too. For me its only if you type gmail.com, www.gmail.com works, otherwise it stalls saying "setting up secure connection". This is the same problem I also have sometimes with Hotmail, after logon it stalls saying "setting up secure connection". So far its only happened on my Vista computers... Hopefully someone can shed some light on this issue...

Wladimir 12. July 2008, 11:38

Thx for new build, but I wonder if that site will ever work on opera:

http://groupme.org/GroupMe/group/421 (and the similar one on that homepage).

Guyz please fix an old annoying bug which was returned back in 9.5*

on forums (Invision) when I wanna address to somebody and click on his nick whick conatin cyryllic (russian) characters Opera places in quick reply his nick in unreadable encoding...

instead of
Антонио

Fartman 12. July 2008, 12:21

Thanks for new build!

But... two bugs that I really hate still not fixed: 325950 ( http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=237967 ) and bug with drag-and-drop text in input fields; after moving text to new location with mouse, its copied, and not dissappears from old location :'(

I wait this problems to be solved from 9.5, downloading every new build with hope...

juksu 12. July 2008, 12:49
