9.52 August Snapshot
By Tommy A. Olsen. Friday, 1. August 2008, 11:55:16
Coming back from a two week vacation just to find the office half empty because the others have gone on vacation is a bit boring, but at the same time it is very relaxing, giving me a slow start.... The boring part is that so little happens at work when people are on vacation. While I was expecting to make a small changelog this time, I didn't expect it to be this small. Anyway, give the build a spin, we're closing in on 9.52 final now.

Thanks Team Opera!!

Can only confirm that button with Execute program action for single executable (without argument like %u) don't launch anything.
Example:
Execute program, "fscapture.exe" don't launch FastStone Capture program
but
Execute program, "fscapture.exe", "%u" is OK (yes... "%u" is usualy useless for this screen capture utility
Colateral behaviour from "Fixed opening of files in external applications when disk cache is off" ?
Reported as bug-352257
Thanks/Merci for this new build (Cool to retreive "Windows shell menu for transfert items"

bug-344807
The bug is:
You open Opera and makes a download. Opera opens a transfer tab.
Than you open a new window. In this new window at each download made Opera opens a new transfer tab (you end up with multiple transfer tabs).
If on the old window you close the transfer tab, than on the new tab Opera reuses the transfer tab properly (you have one transfer tab with multiples files).

Can someone confirm?
(Win Vista Ultimate 32-bit)
lucideer # 2. August 2008, 01:17
Confirmed in Opera 9.51.10081 stable too. (x64 Win. Server '08)
However... t is 84
116 is F5
...so it must be an Opera bug outright.

Thanx for the windows shell menu!!!
You are the best guyz!
Le()niD # 2. August 2008, 08:59
maybe it would be better if you move that explorer menu under the Open menu
So the menu should look like
======================================
Open
Open with..
Open folder
Additional (with explorer menu in it)
======================================
instead of it now come in first place above "open"
Thank you

Is there any chance that more options will be added to the default menu for highlighted linked text?
Say,
copy

search
search with

encyclopedia
------------

copy link address
save linked content as

You can edit standard_menu.ini and change "Platform Windows, Submenu, D_NEW_PREFERENCES_ADVANCED, Internal Shell" place to lower like this.
[Transfers Item Popup Menu]
(This is normal place)
Platform Windows, --------------------1
Item, M_TRANSFERS_NOTIFY_POPUP_MENU_OPEN= Open transfer
Submenu, M_OPEN_WITH, Open in menu
Item, M_TRANSFERS_NOTIFY_POPUP_MENU_OPEN_FOLDER= Open transfer folder
--------------------2
Item, SI_IDM_TRANSFER_RESUME= Resume transfer | Restart transfer, , , M_TRANSFER_ITEM_POPUP_MENU_RESTART_TRANSF
Item, SI_IDM_TRANSFER_STOP= Stop transfer
--------------------3
Item, M_TRANSFER_ITEM_POPUP_MENU_REMOVE_TRANSF= Delete
Item, M_REMOVE_ALL_FINISHED_TRANSFERS= Remove all finished transfers
--------------------4
Item, SI_IDSTR_TRANSWIN_MENU_COPYTEXTINFO= Copy transfer info
--------------------5
Platform Windows, Submenu, D_NEW_PREFERENCES_ADVANCED, Internal Shell

cause build 9903 was the last that worked for me with checking for new mails.
every later build (incl this new one) keeps "synchronizing" when opera should download new mails.
my mail provider is t-online.de
anyone with the same experience?
I noticed that log-files created with 9903 and later builds are quite different.
maybe someone can help me..
satshow # 2. August 2008, 21:33
I see also synchronizing here.
Al the other 9 accounts works fine.

Big thanks !
One issue to report though: Opera causes 100% CPU usage when toggling fullscreen on a window with several open (maximized) tabs. A new window with a single tab open works fine (even with a multi-tabbed window in the background).
Same issue on the last few builds, but noticed it just recently.

(Under Linux) Pull down "select Mfgr" combo freezes Opera (and KDE) under linux when Mask as Internet Explorer is NOT selected as a site pref (ie. Identify as Opera or Mask as Firefox).
Can only kill opera from a tty which restores KDE UI.
Confirm?

It still shows as HTTPS, so what's happening when Gmail2 refreshes itself...? Not sure if this is related to their new feature to force HTTPS sessions, which I have turned ON?
Any ideas? (Build 4906, OSX v10.5.4)

please see the original comment by galanga earlier in this thread. it contains multiple links to the user fora with examples provided.
also, when I click on a download link in this post it opens up a blank tab. isn't it, I don't know, a little bit quaint in 2008?

.
A behaviour which is maybe not a straightforward bug, but annoying as hell:
- DL a webpage, render it
- Highlight a string (word, aso.)
- Get the context menu (right mouse)
- Travel to "Search", klick it (left mouse)
...N O T H I N G, just bloody nothing, no action, nil.
But if you go one back and do this...
- Travel to "Search With" and highlight it
- Then travel the mouse pointer to your engine
- Highlight your search engine of choice and then click it (left mouse)
...H E Y , P R E S T O !
Your search works!
I am using menus by LiteraryMoose '2559.ini' moderately altered to reflect my own preferences, yet not changed far. The framework of functions set up by the Marvellous Moose of Opera Fame and Lofoten Pedigree (greetz!) is still there.
Here is where the bug kicks in.
In the _former_ versions of Opera you could log in your favourite search engine, and then conveniently use the shortcut to it (click "Search", and you are done). Only for fancy searching was it necessary to dig deeper into the menu structure.
Yet _nowadays_ you have to select all the way up to the (same, and same, and same) search engine, every time again and again. This is a freaking nuissance.
Maybe someone can help me to get the the function of logging in the default search webpage back.
Opera Developers: what's happened to Moose the Great? For quite a time haven't heard from him -- maybe one of you wizards can look at his work and update it to 9.52? Make it ready for 10.0? I deem the work worth it.
Thanx in advance!
Yours truly,
YBK

From version 9.27 up to version 9.52 you seem to have successfully ruined much of the plugin support, which makes using Opera 9.52 really questionable.
I've no idea when developers of the programs I've mentioned are gonna add support for the new version of Opera, so I'd say you should to optimize the compatibility. I've no idea why did you have to change it so much though...
Anyway, for now the only fair option is to get back to Opera 9.27. Sad.
P.S. On the new Opera skin, bigger tab closing buttons (X) would be really great, so I wouldn't have to aim so precisely.
P.P.S. Dropdown menu on www.ironmaiden.com still doesn't work as it should.
