Thank you

NoobSaibot 8. August 2008, 14:24

still have to reload a https site several times to get opera to actually load it.

toman 8. August 2008, 14:28

@NoobSaibot: Which site?

veggen 8. August 2008, 14:29

I posted this a couple of hours ago as a comment on a previous build, but I deleted it as I've obviously chosen a wrong time to comment that build. So, I'm reposting here:

Originally posted by veggen:

Sometimes, I'm forced to use dial-up to connect.
With the advent of 9.5 series, this has become a very unpleasent experience as Opera now refuses to follow any link before it finishes loading everything on the current page, which in effect means I have to wait for a VERY long time for useless things to load before I can get to where I want. The only way to avoid this is constantly monitoring every single tab so I can press STOP before clicking a link. I also have images disabled when surfing from a dial-up, but this only lessens the pain. All the plugin content and other bigg-ass elements have to load before Opera can follow a link.
Please guys, I know this is not much of a problem for broad-band users (which is almost everyone nowdays), but still, this behavior completely ruins the experience on slow connections. Even on broad-band, correcting this would mean less useless traffic (maybe that affects someone)...
Anyway, please Opera team, see if this can be rectified.

Thanks

jonspencerbx 8. August 2008, 14:34

omg!!!

- Embedded YouTube videos should work more often now without having to reload

:D

lamarca 8. August 2008, 14:36

thanks for the new snapshot.

schrode 8. August 2008, 14:37

I noticed the following bug: When I press F1 for help, I get Client not found!

davidviolin 8. August 2008, 14:38

@schrode: confirmed!

thobi 8. August 2008, 14:40

lupuspl 8. August 2008, 14:41

Netegrof 8. August 2008, 14:45

Nice job Opera-Team and now enjoy the Olimpics Games, jejejejeje...

davidviolin 8. August 2008, 14:49

Video on NRK.no doesnt work.

YtseJam 8. August 2008, 14:50

schrode, the Help pages are updated once a new version is released. 9.52 is not released. Not a bug.

Guys also note there appear to be various skin updates. Kudos.

element119 8. August 2008, 14:54

is synchronization broke?
nevermind, after a few tries i gave up, walked away for 5 minutes , worked when i came back.

jonspencerbx 8. August 2008, 14:55

@YtseJam,

I'd love to give kudos for the skin updates, but I realy don't see any difference. It would be nice if the changelog on that part could be a bit more detailed. It's a bit hard to give feedback now.

M.

Confirmed.

@All
Don't get me wrong, but are you guys sure it's a good idea to fill this blog with one-word thankyous and similar posts? It kind of makes it hard to read posts actually related to the build, it's bugs, features etc.
Don't get offended or anything... I'm just saying.

cosmasebastian 8. August 2008, 14:57

Thanks.... allot. Good fixes. :smile:

mickael9 8. August 2008, 14:58

When will you provide Qt4 shared builds (or at least upgrade to Qt 4.4) ?
Most Qt themes don't work with the statically linked Qt 4.2

aagha 8. August 2008, 15:12

@NoobSaibot: HTTPS sites not reloading on their first go is the bain of my existance right now!

Luchio 8. August 2008, 15:20

> Embedded YouTube videos should work more often now without having to reload

Haven't tried it, bt that should provide a very needed improvement.

Asle 8. August 2008, 15:22

@davidviolin: All videos at nrk.no play nicely here. Perhaps a problem with your WMP plugin?

Sterkrig 8. August 2008, 15:23

Version doesn't matter much for themes, static is static.
It seems like we'd wait for first O10 builds

man on the street 8. August 2008, 15:23

great!
the pdf fix is a real treat!
thanks alot
:happy:

ThArGos 8. August 2008, 15:38

Thanks !

Tamil 8. August 2008, 15:40

bug-346195 not fixed. :frown:

ayespy 8. August 2008, 15:41

Likewise, changed to standard skin and can see no changes - not that I can use the standard skin, as the tab bar is so dark the icons I have on it cannot be seen.

EricJH 8. August 2008, 15:45

Thanks for the new build. Downloading and looking forward to the skin changes.

+1 Even though I am on a swift 6 Mb/s connection it incidentally annoys me as well. Please don't gorget the people on dial up. I think in Russia and East Europe lot's of people use Opera (more dial up there)...

kavalec74 8. August 2008, 16:11

YtseJam, help pages should be accessible, they allways were accessible, even if not updated. It seems you don't know, what you are talking about.

Users should get 9.51 help files in 9.52 snapshot.

I prefer the new way of doing it because the old way was causing problems with xinerama dual screen setups. The popup was either going across the 2 screens or appearing on the wrong screen, now it's fixed.

Also, I'm surprised that you, of all people, would break the rules of this blog by bringing out your pet bug....

kavalec74 8. August 2008, 16:20

Before was released 9.5 we got 9.2x help files. I don't see why we should not get anything only because of usege of a snapshot.

calex71 8. August 2008, 16:27

Issue with the personal bar where if you have links there the favicon ramdomly dissappears is stil present in this build.

piroxicam 8. August 2008, 16:55

Now all the YouTube embedded videos load great, but still fail to play. All of them stop playing after 2 seconds. Anyway it's a good advance. Before, the videos did not load at all. They always showed a black screen.

stranded 8. August 2008, 16:58

Embedded YouTube videos should work more often now without having to reload

Something works or it doesn't. It's that simple, there's no "more often".

wirusek 8. August 2008, 17:06

Thanks for the new build :cheers:

Mike46 8. August 2008, 17:09

'veggen' quote...Opera now refuses to follow any link before it finishes loading everything on the current page.

likewise...insists on loading full page before it will respond to a click on any link...in this build and previous build.

suribe 8. August 2008, 17:20

running OK in Ubuntu! :D

andresruiz 8. August 2008, 17:41

Thanks a lot, fixing Adobe PDF bug is great !

nfredrik 8. August 2008, 17:43

Why isn't the last selected link in the address field drop-down moved to the top of the list?
It's been like that with all 9.5x releases, 9.2x works just fine.
Is this a bug or is it supposed to be like that? It annoys me every time I access a previosly typed adress that i know is in the list.

LeeBouknight 8. August 2008, 17:45

Thanks for the build...something to play with.

You guys having problems with HTTPS sites - had it on mine and FINALLY got them to work by removing my host.ics file. Never used sharing anyway, and besides it had the wrong address in it. Removed and PRESTO - https sites work first time since then. YMMV...

aldi 8. August 2008, 17:52

oh yeah - the last two builds fixed the most annoying problems in opera 9.5x: The embedded-youtube-vid-bug and the simplified transfers-context-menu...

well done :smile:

inetdysk 8. August 2008, 17:58

Hi
When enabled
Page icons->Show no icons
circle on tab is always the same color (yellow), even if page isn't loaded. In previous version was correct, yellow circle was shown when page finished loading (during loading were reloading icon)
And another sugestion in cache https default settings should be (for example when using Opera in internet Cafe):
Cache HTTPS After Sessions->DISABLED
Always Reload HTTPS In History->ENABLED
In disk cache i think so is ok
Cache HTTPS->DISABLED
Thank You for your work.

emaia 8. August 2008, 18:28

In this build when I send to print, I choose printer as "Adobe PDF" and click print... Opera crash.

In Build 10100 is fine.

TreeGo 8. August 2008, 18:37

Very, very subtle skin changes ... what changed?

davidviolin 8. August 2008, 18:40

@Asle: are you using Vista 32bit? It works for me on XP... but on Vista... Nope.
