Another build within 24 hours. :eyes:

:up:

ElectriX2 15. August 2008, 09:17

Thank you! At least usable build! But right-click problem is still present... :frown:

Any other changes? I look forward to see the changelog... :wink:

maxstep 15. August 2008, 09:17

yay!

olli 15. August 2008, 09:19

ElectriX2,: We only fixed the upload bug

lunatic001 15. August 2008, 09:21

Thanks. Trying...

kavalec74 15. August 2008, 09:23

I have downloaded this iso file:

ftp://ftp.uni-kl.de/pub/linux/knoppix/DVD/KNOPPIX_V5.1.1DVD-2007-01-04-EN.iso

wanted to continue next day, but now I don't see the file in the transfer list do be able to continue :frown:

What can I do?

Thank you

Metoz 15. August 2008, 09:36

Woho!
Thanks

Sterkrig 15. August 2008, 09:38

kavalec74
Search and find it, I sugest.
Also check if transfers settings suit you

Vladimyr 15. August 2008, 09:39

kavalec74, did you acciedntally delete or move the file, didn't you?
I has been in the same situation some time ago :smile:

masterofopera 15. August 2008, 09:44

Thanks for the new build, that was fast!

Testing it (when i am at home), i think, i will find the most of the
bugs discovered by me (especially the Print-preview Crasher) again. :worried:

wirusek 15. August 2008, 09:56

tanks for the new build :cheers:

martintangsl 15. August 2008, 09:58

It seems that there is a regression in RC1 and this build since 9.51. Chinese characters copied from Nautilus cannot be pasted correctly in Opera on Linux(Ubuntu). All of them become a series of characters in form of "\*****", where * is an English character or a number.

lamarca 15. August 2008, 09:58

thanks for the second rc.

kavalec74 15. August 2008, 10:10

Vladimyr, no I did not move the unfinished file. I only switched my PC off :frown: How did you solve it? It has 2 of 4GB now ...

Sterkrig, I did not change anyghing. I don't use any download manager...

This was the first time I needed to interrupt the download.

Brembo 15. August 2008, 10:13

olli 15. August 2008, 10:17

Brembo: Sure you are using todays snapshot and not the one from yesterday?

fearphage 15. August 2008, 10:20

You guys spoil us.

Originally posted by kavalec74:

This is a known issue to my knowledge. It is quite old. Transfers don't always/consistently remain in the transfer log.

kavalec74 15. August 2008, 10:26

fearphage, Is there a way to fool Opera? I don't wanna start again from zero :'( Why was not it fixed and is not listed in known issues? :frown:

Is not this a RC?

davidviolin 15. August 2008, 10:30

www.hugoboss.com doesnt work. Tested on XP SP3, and Vista SP1. Works in IE7. I assume its flash related problem, but can someone else confirm this and desktop team please look into this before releasing the final?
Otherwise, keep up the good work!

kiaM 15. August 2008, 10:41

@davidviolin: confirmed. But it also not working in Opera 9.51 [Build 10081], so it's not a regression and won't be fixed in Opera 9.52 final, i guess.

davidviolin 15. August 2008, 10:47

I decide to have faith in the desktop team :heart: and believe that this will be fixed. I mean this is not something that sort of works, it flat out doesnt work 100% and is a great way to force people to switch to other browsers.:cry: (Which we dont want right)?:beer:

Brembo 15. August 2008, 10:51

Ops :D ... problem whit RC1 p: ... on RC2 is perfect :cool: !!!

ytsmabeer 15. August 2008, 10:57

The site www.hugoboss.com works fine here on linux with RC1
RC2 test on the way

Edit:RC2 also fine

Sushubh 15. August 2008, 11:03

the loading favicon bug is fixed. thanks.

kiaM 15. August 2008, 11:04

The site www.hugoboss.com with Opera 9.5x on windows xp with sp3 seems to be broken. only the dark background is displayed.

Hades32 15. August 2008, 11:07

@kavalec74: Not even being a Final means that all bugs are fixed...

kavalec74 15. August 2008, 11:11

Hades32, yes, but this is not 9.5, nor 9.51 this will tomorrow be 9.52 final!!! I am dissapointed by this. It was the first time I needed to download that big file. :frown:

oscardt 15. August 2008, 11:15

@davidviolin

Hugoboss.com doesnt work here either with opera 9.51 @ win xp SP3 (latest flash build installed)

I too, only see the grey background.

m3tax 15. August 2008, 11:27

Still only 83% in http://acid3.acidtests.org/ ... very scarse...

kavalec74 15. August 2008, 11:31

m3tax, kestrel will not pass acid3!!! I meant everybody knows it already.

ytsmabeer 15. August 2008, 11:32

@m3tax:As always this version of Opera never intended to get 100% on that. You're comment is of no use.

Investor 15. August 2008, 11:33

Olli,

why can't you get Opera to work on http://www.colorline.no/ ?

In field *Kampanjekode* (right side of page) enter freecard code 632AB which should take customers to a calendar showing free travels... IE and FF does, however Opera takes customers somewhere else, the wrong place...

Anyone confirm ?

(Not a regression, just an embarrassment :wink: )

gun 15. August 2008, 11:38

@kavalec74

1. Rename the downloaded part
2. Start to download the original file again
3. Stop the new download a few seconds later
4. Quit Opera
5. Replace the new download file with the old one (simply rename the old file to the original filename)
6. Start Opera
7. Opera schould be able to continue the old download

kavalec74 15. August 2008, 11:45

gun thank you a lot.

Edit: I just replace the new small file with the big one, without restart of Opera. It works. :smile:

davidviolin 15. August 2008, 11:59

www.aftenposten.no's TV still isnt working properly, the media controls of Windows media player is only displayed on fullscreen. www.nrksport.no videos has improved since last build, but still the media control buttons are not always displayed correctly. XP SP3 and WMP 11.

I think www.hugoboss.com is only broken on windows platform, but I am not sure yet as nobody with a mac build has confirmed yet.

illiad 15. August 2008, 12:02

Investor: do you need to login???

- I get 'flash 7 needed' AFAICS... ?? could this be the usual flash problem???

hugoboss... reduce the windowsize a lot, and then you get a small graphic at the top - rightclick, says flash 9... same problem???

Investor 15. August 2008, 12:04

illiad, no, just type code 632AB and click button (try in FF or IE first to see what should happen)...

illiad 15. August 2008, 12:24

thanks, but it does load flash content, hence the 'need flash' message... it is just not 'seeing' the flash version in opera... ???

www.hugoboss.com works ok in 9.5 beta (9945) ...

Investor 15. August 2008, 12:29

illiad, is that a confirmation ?. Do you get different results in Opera vs. FF or IE ?

Effect, can't make a reservation using Opera, meaning no wand, meaning all personal info have to be typed in reservation form when using FF or IE.

(I buy my :beer: ++ in tax free shop onboard the ferry to Sweden :lol: )

i got a 'grey' page.

fearphage 15. August 2008, 12:39

Originally posted by kavalec74:

The known issues is only a miniscule subset of issues. I'd bet that opera has over 1,000 bugs open at any given time and as much as some of us would like to get our hands on that list and the closed list and the bts in general. It is not currently an option.

Originally posted by illiad:

www.hugoboss.com

From a quick run through, it does not appear to be related to browser sniffing or content blocking. It works in safari, ie6, and ff.

illiad 15. August 2008, 12:43

Investor: well I am only guessing, it is looking for flash, that hopefully would load that calendar... doing more testing.... :smile:

nope 927 wont even do it....

www.hugoboss.com not working in anything later than 9.5 beta (9945) AFAICS - not detection, but version, I think... works ok in 927...

Tamil 15. August 2008, 12:56

Added bookmark path to autocompleted bookmarks in the address bar to better distinguish them from visited pages.

Bookmark name should be removed from the path as it is shown next to URL in blue color & to reduce clutter.

Luchio 15. August 2008, 13:09

@ kavalec74

If you find the same torrent on the internet and tell it to download over your partial download, it should resume. (disclaimer, I'm not responsible for anything that might happen, you are)

King Crimson 15. August 2008, 13:17

Please Fix This:

When in Preferences I set to "open next tab on closing a tab", but tabs have been opened by ctrl+shift+left click, it will open last active tab.

Thanks!

kavalec74 15. August 2008, 13:25

Luchio, thank you, I solved the problem by the simple gun's trik. I don't use torrent. I don't want to offer anything. :smile:

EricJH 15. August 2008, 13:28

Thx for keeping us busy. Does this quick fix to RC 2 mean the final in really neigh?

I think I am seeing a Peregrine falcon flying at a distance and it looks like it is getting nearer.... can anybody confirm?:jester:

loopy79 15. August 2008, 13:53

Hiya and thank you for RC2!

To get hugoboss.com to work, follow this workaround...

1. Load http://www.hugoboss.com in Opera - you should get the blank grey page as previous posts.

2. Go to View -> Style -> Table of Contents and click.

3. Go back to View -> Style -> Table of Contents and click - this removes the tick and Opera resorts to the default 'view' mode.

4. Presto, the Hugo Boss should be present.

I hope this helps :-) :smile:

Windows XP SP2
Opera 9.52 RC2 (Build 10108)
Flash Player 10 RC (Non-IE)

MrBlueSky 15. August 2008, 14:50

Excellent! Thank you. :up:

fearphage 15. August 2008, 14:51

@loopy79: Nice find. This makes the whole thing seem like a redraw bug perhaps. Opening dragonfly slows a sliver of the flash along the top edge of the screen. Closing dragonfly removes/hides this again. (This seems like dragonfly is changing/affecting webpages... not good). Another weird thing I see from df, is that there are a lot of the meta tags in the body of the document... in opera only. Here's a portion of the generated source in Opera. Not sure why.
<HEAD>
<META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
<META http-equiv="Expires" content="Mon, 04 Dec 1999 21:29:02 GMT">
<META http-equiv="PRAGMA" content="NO-CACHE">
<META http-equiv="reply-to" content="info@hugoboss.com">
<META name="DCS.dcssip" content="www.hugoboss.com">
</HEAD>
<BODY onload="checkScreen()">
<META name="DCS.dcsuri" content="/index.html">
Opera is closing the head too soon. Not sure why. Here's the actual code in the source:

<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="Mon, 04 Dec 1999 21:29:02 GMT" />
<meta http-equiv="PRAGMA" content="NO-CACHE" />
<meta http-equiv="reply-to" content="info@hugoboss.com" />
<meta name="DCS.dcssip" content="www.hugoboss.com" />
<meta name="DCS.dcsuri" content="/index.html" />
<meta name="DCSext.mandant" content="HUGO BOSS AG" />
<meta name="WT.ti" content="HUGO BOSS Fashion Startingpage" />
<!-- many more meta tags here -->
Perhaps there is a rogue char somewhere (utf-8) that is killing something? I did a little fiddling but came up empty.

EDIT: problem found:
html{overflow:hidden;}
removing this one line makes it visible. Not sure what other rules are playing into the problem but this fixes it.
