A New Snapshot and My First Post Here
By Øyvind ØstlundNoteMe. Friday, September 12, 2008 3:41:00 PM
Hello, my name is Øyvind and this is my first post here since I joined the Opera's Desktop Team less than two months ago. It has been a busy time for me, but at the same time, I think it was the perfect time for me to join. I have already witnessed the release of 9.52, and we are getting close to releasing 9.6.
Before I started, I was just a MyOpera member roaming the #weekly IRC channel. Fridays were always a highlight. That's when I got the answer to all my questions. Did someone fix my bugs? Were there any new features enabled? When is the next version due? Now when I am on the inside I get to know all this information every day I go to work. And the best of all, I can now fix bugs myself, as well as play and contribute new functionality for the next release. So now I get to have fun every day. What more can I ask for?
Today we have formally EV-enabled Verisign and Comodo in Opera v9.5 and later, which you can read more about in Yngve's blog post. So go and try out our new snapshot, and have a lovely weekend.

Even if I click Fetch Complete Message, the above banner remains with "This message will be fetched the next time you check and receive mail" displayed in the mail body, with the "Fetch" button greyed. Then, clicking Check/Send, the original "This message is incomplete but can be fetched the next time you check and receive mail" reappears, with the button pressable again (ie. not greyed out).
This cycle seems to be unbreakable while "Leave messages on server" is checked.
Should I file a bug report or is this known?
Seb

Someone else asked whether this is on a clean install - it's not... so I might delete my profile and try again if it's the case that old profiles can cause problems.

On the last two builds, on google maps (maps.google.com) after I have searched for a place, clicking on any of the links that pop-up on the map ( To here - From here - Search nearby) brings me to a blank (white) page with javascript:void(0) in the address bar.
I'm thinking I just need to do a fresh install.

Otherwise, the CNN videos still wont display fullscreen, hugoboss, com still doesnt work, and there are many pages that have formatting problems.
Also, I would love to see Opera reach 100% on acid tests, and then using this as a sales argument in advertising campaigns. Yes, Opera, like firefox needs advertising. This will boost the useage, and then again, more web developers are going to write their pages optimized for Opera.

It's wrong to draw conclusions just from the size of a file. To exaggerate things, you could imagine Opera itself is extremely small, but calls one or two external libraries that boost the file size by a few MB. Would that make Opera any less optimized, or its code less clean? Not really.
As long as your browser doesn't become Photoshop like, there are other things you should worry about.

After trying typing in the addresses to get directions click on the round trip button and you get javascript:void(0)
Timothy ConnerVJgamer # Friday, September 12, 2008 8:28:23 PM
That is exactly what it is doing on Google Maps. I wonder if they are related. I can confirm your issue on Yahoo! Maps.

On http://www.microsoft.com/en/gb/ clicking on any of the links underneath "Microsoft UK Site Guide" brings up javascript:void(0) instead of a box with various content. Can anyone confirm this is happening?
Also, where are all the languages?! I want British English not American English!!

Im trying to access http://www.wileyplus.com a textbook/hw site and I get this message.
Redirection Status
The URL was redirected to . Please click the link to go there.
Generated by Opera.
There is no link that it mentions. Have to reload everytime to make it work, but this error only happens the first time you type in the website. The rest of the time it works fine unless you close browser and try again.
And as for javascript:void(0)can confirm in google yahoo and microsoft.
winxp sp3 aswell.
