That's really weird. Maybe it's because of my new connection to the internet via a proxy and opera doesn't like it or it's just a normal bug in opera. The strange thing is that every other browser can open these https sites (IE, firefox, chrome).
I've noticed this bug since 9.6 but this was exactly the time when I moved to this location.
The strange thing is that the proxy has a *.pac script for configuration. If I enter in the opera proxy settings the location of the script opera can't open any site. I have to fill in the proxy server manually. In IE it works automatically. But I've double checked the proxy settings for https an they're correct, but opera does not open these sites.
Any suggestions?
bye
Capsad
//Edit:
I'm now pretty sure, that it is an opera bug, because when I open opera, https don't work. If I disable "use proxy for https" in the network settings, press "OK" and afterwards enable this option again, https work until I restart opera. Then I have to do the same thing again.
Please fix this bug.

Its even worse, because after start of opera again, there aren't links in Transfers tab for restart/continue
I think its new issue in 9.50-snapshots - 9.62.

They always upload it to the ftps before announcing it. It has to have some time to propagate to the mirrors and things like that.Diam0nd # 30. October 2008, 15:05
Guys, seriosly? I mean c'mon, step your game up! People here care about specifics and not just general phrases

You seem to be misunderstanding the process. The final builds are uploaded a day or so before the release to make sure that they propagate to all the mirror sites. However, a version is not official until it has been announced. Anything unannounced on the FTP server can be pulled at any time.

@capsad: https works just fine. But do check if your proxy settings are correct, also those set using 'Internet Properties' from the Windows Config panel.

Thanks a lot for this update, security is always important.
1. What is that new Presto 2.1.1 User Agent Engine ?
2. I hope you can release Opera 10 very soon since on 9.x versions, every minor or mayor update needs a complete app download wich is anoying for normal users, we Opera fanatics love to download and install every new build but normal people hate to do it and they will always preffer auto-updating software like Firefox, Chrome and even IE, installing the complete application for every update is bad for Opera's popularity, bad for market share, bad for $$$, bad for everything.

Could not connect to remote server
You tried to access the address http://my.opera.com/, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.
Make sure your Internet connection is active and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working.

And https do work here, but just until I restart opera, then I have to disable the https proxy and enable it again, then it works again until I restart opera.
That's weird. The same thing after an update, if I choose to start opera "when I press finish" after the update, https work properly (and I always thought "oh, you guys did a great joy" - but I was wrong

I'm with the rest of them though. Let's see Opera 10 snapshots so we can start working on auto-update and inline spell checker. Chrome just released an update today with inline spell checker and has already had an auto-updater. Those two missing elements to me seem like an easy way to gain more loyal and steady users. Chrome and Firefox both have solid methods of auto-updating in my opinion. That being they both install the update and don't force close the browser. It just completes the update upon restarting the browser. I hope Opera's implementation is solid like this.

this problem exists since I moved to this location here (I was just too lazy to report it until now because I thought that such a major failure would have been reportet by other people
I use Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP1, I have admin rights, I don't know which proxy my company here is using, but they use 1 proxy for:
"HTTP- / HTTPS- / FTP-Proxy" on port 3128.
And really every other program works fine with it even google earth and skype can connect properly and every other browser can load https properly, so I guess it's an error in opera.
I hope this information can help you to solve the problem,
bye

One annoyance that has been bothering me is this: www.tmobile.com and try go log in with any 10 digit cellphone number and password. Now, if you hit "enter" everything works fine, but if you click the "log in" button I get a blank page and this in the URL bar: javascript: return handleLogin();
Works in FF and IE. I hope that this will be resolved somehow.
Otherwise, I am happy with the new release and I cannot wait to start testing version 10.
