DoubleT 16. December 2008, 10:20

Thank you!

Hope you noticed this test.

ThArGos 16. December 2008, 10:29

Thanks! Is this security update against this hack :
http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/32323
?

PaiTrakt 16. December 2008, 10:30

Is the Peregrine alpha vulnerable, and if yes, can we expect an update in the nearest future?

honeydew 16. December 2008, 10:36

No Opera 9.63 for Fedora 10?

:ko:

Ravindran 16. December 2008, 10:37

Thanks.

harish.l 16. December 2008, 10:48

Opera 10 scores a 10 on that test DoubleT!

mgillespie 16. December 2008, 10:50

Indeed, there are some nasty ones there. Will Opera10 users be getting a update, or is Opera10 not vunerable?

AhmedGhanem 16. December 2008, 10:55

Oh, I saw there's a new RSS from the desktop team and I said well it's definitely a new Alpha :D but it's not, anyway thanks for your effort guys ( I use alpha 1 as my default now  )

ar1pe 16. December 2008, 11:09

xoed 16. December 2008, 11:10

What about 10.0. Is it Vulnerable?

Pedric 16. December 2008, 11:14

You're not supposed to use an alpha (nor beta) version for everyday browsing, anyway. So Opera 10 may be affected and not patched as timely as Opera 9.

pcavalcanti2008 16. December 2008, 11:29

Nothing to do about the update - but i don´t know if this has ever been suggested before - but Opera´s customization possibilities makes it extremely easy to surf the web and keep everything under control, the way you want it to be. That´s the reason i love Opera, and it´s my main browser.

And there´s a lot of features in Opera(like the ´start bar´) that i really miss on my file managers.
Couldn´t you turn opera into a file manager as well? :D with its plugins the manager could preview all your files, and there could be also support for previewing pdf and other Adobe files, fonts, etc. It would be the best file manager ever!

What do you think?

arcy 16. December 2008, 12:09

After I install 9.63 does not open page with Speed Dial :frown:
When I close all the cards automatically displays not Speed Dial only a completely blank page :frown:
Also after running browser does not show up the speed dial only a completely blank page.
In preferences run I did not change anything.
After I run new tabs manual speed dial displays ok.
In 9.62 everything was ok - speed dial run automatically after I start the browser and closed all tabs.

P.S. Sorry for my poor english :ko:

smallfox 16. December 2008, 12:37

nice.. thanks!

tomba4 16. December 2008, 12:47

Is there no Linux Qt4 version in official releases? I'm still using last RC of 9.60 because of this.

Alpha-Toxic 16. December 2008, 13:00

@DoubleT: I think that test is crap.
for example
Autocomplete=Off Prevents Form FillsFAILED
and Opera doesn't even _have_ autocomplete... (and turning off the wand does prevent form fills) AFAICS

mcd 16. December 2008, 13:01

>> Couldn´t you turn opera into a file manager as well?

"file://localhost/" works perfect

sebt 16. December 2008, 13:11

As usual, it's nice to see Opera on the leading edge with regard to security, especially in light of yet another major IE security scare doing the rounds at the moment.

:D

Thanks for the update..:sherlock:

vlevi 16. December 2008, 15:54

I have installed it, and I noticed, that the watch thread/ignore thread option disappeared from the mail part!
I still can see my watched threads, but I can no longer mark a new thread to watch, and I cannot remove a thread from the list of wathced threads.
:frown:

Pattty 16. December 2008, 16:53

Dowloaded and updated!

Cannot confirm. For me Follow/Ignore works as it should (running under Windows XP). Which system do you use?

Scam 16. December 2008, 17:04

I wanna next Opera 10 alpha/beta. It is so stable that I set it as default browser! Waiting for the next snapshot.

Lex1 16. December 2008, 18:10

And you have again broken transfer of a command line :frown: .
If parameter in command line contains spaces you _must_ use quotes for it.

illiad 16. December 2008, 18:21

Guys, PLEASE!!

This part of the blog is about Kestrel, Opera 9.63.. NOT 10!!!

sa666666 16. December 2008, 18:30

There's still the issue of the UNIX Web Search dialog box (Alt-Space activates it) where searches don't work unless you specifically select the search engine each time. For example, if you've selected Google, the string 'Google' will appear in the dialog box title, but the Google engine won't actually be selected in the dropdown box (it won't show the Google icon, but something else instead). Sort of defeats the purpose of a fast shortcut key if you have to reach for the mouse each time.

I've reported this in the 9.6 RC's, and the 9.60 and 9.61 releases. And it's still there in 9.62 and 10.0a. Bug reported as DSK-238382 near the end of October.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, can someone look into this (either to fix it, or at least confirm that it's an issue)?

lamarca 16. December 2008, 18:42

nice one.

funkspock 16. December 2008, 18:46

Could you please look at all the security issues mentioned here:

http://www.info-svc.com/news/2008/12-12/

Thanks.

illiad 16. December 2008, 18:53

Its happening in ALL browsers...
http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=2305

So if you are using that 'password management feature' - they can see your passwords! Only safe place for those is in your head.. p:

Thanks for the update!

www.nissan.de doesn't work again (I guess it's browser incompatiblity)

Also Opera Desktop team is messed up:

http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/4404/95534851tc7.jpg

(I have zoom set to 80% just to capture more space to show you this)

Any idea?

haavard 17. December 2008, 12:28

miki69: It would be nice if you could try to provide at least a few details about what you mean by "doesn't work". It seems that it shows some error page, and spoofing as Firefox fixes that. In other words, it's browser sniffing again.

miki69 17. December 2008, 12:39

@haavard: that's what I said. I get error page with Opera, but when I identify as FF, it works ok

miki69 17. December 2008, 21:28

What about my Opera Desktop Team problem with links overlayed? I have posted image few posts above?

Is it related to some settings?

hobe 17. December 2008, 21:36

Do you have the blog-enhancement userJs installed? I've the same problem on another computer with this userJS.

miki69 17. December 2008, 21:44

@HOBE: that was the problem. Thanks mate , I use this enhancement for quick quote.

Junyor 17. December 2008, 23:02

@vlevi: Use the new Thread button on the mail toolbar, one of the new keyboard shortcuts, or the mail or message list context menu. Check the changelog for complete details.

kaitum 18. December 2008, 02:32

All my bookmarks and RSS feeds disappeared... and syncing with opera link is on.

ZAHEK 18. December 2008, 06:36

Thanks for update.Did you try uninstall 9.63 from your system.I have tried and took this message(error 1721) two time.(see below)

http://triton.imageshack.us/Himg136/scaled.php?server=136&filename=orcj9.png&xsize=578&ysize=480

maybe I think the problem is regarding Wİndows installer but ir is update now.

And also my ram consumption is now 50% cpu and 150 mb when two tabs are open.
Is it normal?
