Looking for freedom? Do you want to share things with who you want, when you want? Do you want to stay in touch with your friends, chat and collaborate, without your data being at the mercy of middlemen? Now, with your own web server, you'll be ready to do all this directly from your computer.

We call it Opera Unite, and it has capabilities like File I/O, server-side scripting with Javascript, combined with UPnP support and much more.

The two way internet is here, and with Opera, you're at both ends whenever you run it.

Because it's a Labs release, not a snaphost. However it's confusing because it's mentioned on the snapshot blog. Also make sure you have download all snaphosts enabled in prefs.

Unite is surely kicking but I'm unable to log in with my username here (Le()niD) it says that it contains invalid characters :frown:
but why my username is accepted in Opera Link

so i had to change my user name because of the _ in it.
the link from the dialog led me to the login page but after logging in i was on the start page of my account without the ability to change my nickname.
after clicking in that unite dialog again (being logged in)
i was able to change the user name, but sending the form it said "The page you are looking for could not be found"
seems to work anyway because the url said
[...]"services?newname=success"
and i'm just writing with the new user name

Really - how easy is that "easy"? I first tried right clicking the menu bar - nothing. I then tried the View menu - still nothing. I resorted to checking Appearance. Oh, come ooon - it's still NOT there. Tried the Preferences. Tried Tools -> Advanced. Obviously, either I was missing the point of "easy" or the "hide"-thing was not there.
Cannot help myself thinking that the option is not by all means supposed to be in the File menu! Anyway - great idea :wink:
The skin is more like IT now :wink: But the 'Go' button for the address bar has gone so narrow that the 'Go' spills out.

Everything's cool, but where's my freedom when I want to remove this button and it's coming back after every Opera restart? ;)

Disable the menu bar under windows and you get a new top left button to replace it. Very useful. The skin looks better now but not enough to replace the custom mso2007 :D

I also think that the position of the option "hide the menu bar" would be more intuitive when a user can find it under "view" and not under the "file" menu.

Oh dear, Opera beating me in the thing I wanted to create. (MicroSE Unite). Ah well, congrats :wink:

I don't have a customized menu, but the option to hide it doesn't appear in mine. Though I have the option to hide it !?
Well, it's not that important because I'm already using one "toggle menu" button (thanks to http://operawiki.info/CustomButtons#menu)...

I Like:
- the new icons, no more heart icons yeh!
- the hide "show menu bar". Should be hidden by default, kinda like Chrome, and move the Tab bar into the title bar like Chrome as well, so we have more real estate on screen

problem:
- go to youtube and left click your name with the drag down arrow for menus. It doesnt show the menu list all at once, until you move your arrow key over them
- it takes a long time for the opera program to load in windows 7

opera sync feature request:
- could the bookmark be sync'ed in proper tree/folder order
- could you include a "delete all bookmark" from opera link webpage as well
- could it include newsfeed addresses

I believe there are statically linked QT3 builds will work just fine on systems with only QT4. Try it.
