We call it Opera Unite, and it has capabilities like File I/O, server-side scripting with Javascript, combined with UPnP support and much more.
The two way internet is here, and with Opera, you're at both ends whenever you run it.
Do you think that sounds cool? Check out our Opera Unite introduction on labs.opera.com to learn more about how it works! If you are a web-developer, make sure you read the articles on dev.opera.com as well!
Opera Unite is included in this snapshot, so make sure you download and install it!

the link from the dialog led me to the login page but after logging in i was on the start page of my account without the ability to change my nickname.
after clicking in that unite dialog again (being logged in)
i was able to change the user name, but sending the form it said "The page you are looking for could not be found"
seems to work anyway because the url said
[...]"services?newname=success"
and i'm just writing with the new user name

Well, it's not that important because I'm already using one "toggle menu" button (thanks to http://operawiki.info/CustomButtons#menu)...

- the new icons, no more heart icons yeh!
- the hide "show menu bar". Should be hidden by default, kinda like Chrome, and move the Tab bar into the title bar like Chrome as well, so we have more real estate on screen
problem:
- go to youtube and left click your name with the drag down arrow for menus. It doesnt show the menu list all at once, until you move your arrow key over them
- it takes a long time for the opera program to load in windows 7
opera sync feature request:
- could the bookmark be sync'ed in proper tree/folder order
- could you include a "delete all bookmark" from opera link webpage as well
- could it include newsfeed addresses
thanks

BTW: would it be possible to get the great flash-blocking feature for non-turbo users? It would be great to have this in opera. Firefox has flashblock, but I haven't found something similar to opera (that works in 10.0). I know I can block flash content, but I want a play-button on all flash content. Flash is what makes opera unstable for me.
Irontiger # Tuesday, June 16, 2009 8:44:05 AM
I just noticed the the shortcuts change if you hide the menu bar. For example:
With bar: ALT+D (German) opens the file menu.
Without bar: ALT+A shows it (instead of view (Ansicht, in German)).
I would be very grateful, if you could "normalize" the shortcuts.
BTW: This build sometimes slows down. I can't use ist as smooth as the build before. E.g.: Loading the last few items of a website somestimes slows opera down for 5 seconds (unusabel). Anotherone: The tab preview somtomes disappears only if you scoll the website (e.g. this blog
Thanks

But, as with Link and Turbo, Unite relies on Opera servers and their own proprietary protocols/backend. This feels kinda like a lock-in. I can't help but feel for these technologies to be really huge, Opera needs to publish the standards for the backend and allow others to implement their own or, perhaps, sell the backend components while publishing the standards.
Nevertheless a great new step for Opera and another first
Now just HTML reply option, Edit email body/subject and remove email attachments from messages within the mailsystem, finishing off Visual tabs, a shedload more bugfixes, and we're ready for RC1!!

If I use 'opera:config' to hide the menu bar I do get the "Show menu bar" in the new menu however.
