Link fixes and Unite search engine blocking

A new build is ready.

Search engine synchronization should be working again now, but those who are upgrading from certain previous Opera 10 builds (including the Unite labs build) may have problems with some search engines not being synchronized. If this happens, try to set opera:config#OperaSync|SyncClientStateSearches to 0 (no restart required).

Note: All Solaris builds and some FreeBSD builds are missing. The Windows MSI package is English-only.

Highlights
  • Search engine synchronization should now be working again
  • Added "robots.txt" to prevent search engines from indexing Unite services by default
  • Fixed several Opera Unite crashes

Known Issues
  • Some search engines may be missing when synchronizing with some previous Opera 10 builds
  • Text nearly invisible on incactive/greyed-out buttons
  • Native skin is work in progress
  • Some Windows users may get an error related opera6.ini in the system32 folder. This can be ignored

FataL 30. June 2009, 14:41

I got this message when upgrading previous build via Classic installer:
The file C:\WINDOWS\system32\opera6.ini could not be opened.
[ OK ]

Bill_P 30. June 2009, 14:42

is there a problem with turbo mode and qt4/x64? as I keep getting the error "opera turbo crrently not available" and "unable to publish a connection". Or is turbo down?

eldarien 30. June 2009, 14:43

In Tools-Appearance you can choose preferred normal font (including (!) font color, black by default) and background color (white by default). Background color works Ok on simple html page without styles, font color -- doesn't -- it is always black. This is first.
Background color does not apply to side panel lists (bookmarks and others) and feeds/mail lists (from Feeds-Read feeds). This is second.
Both issues makes impossible to use Opera with dark backgrounds.
Also, in native skin mode, opera ignores system color settings.

Can anybody confirm this?

Onecar 30. June 2009, 14:48

The "known issues" are a bit too annoying for me, especially the potential loss of some custom search engines (I use a lot of them everyday, without them I am like without a hand), so I am not gonna try this build this time.

Make me happy and make another "second build of the week" without these "features". Thx and stay tuned :-)

I got the same message. I clicked "no" to the rolling back and build 1615 seems to be working ok, up to now.

Thx for fixing DSK-256929.
Now if only that strange blueish hue inside the little star would be removed, then it would be perfect.

Menu bar icon? In case you're talking about the menu button when hiding the menu bar, that one can be removed:
Appearance... → click the menu button to highlight it (yellow framing) → change toolbar placement from Top to Off.

It's not impossible if you read. They just made it very unintuitive on purpose.

By the way, the wrong positioning of the menu button's menu can be fixed by placing a dynamic spacer in front of it. :D

Welcome to the party. Best advice I've heard is to try to find how your bugs break high profile sites (google, gmail, facebook, yahoo, etc). Aside from that, just get used to it.

If operapref.ini contains only path to Opera Directory, Opera uses default directory for the following items. :frown:
  • Mail Root Directory
  • Cache Directory4
  • Opera Local Directory
  • Operator Cache Directory4
  • Temporary Download Directory

In build 1606 both visited and non-visited bookmarks had a red icon on the personal bar, which was very difficult to distinguish.
Whether the disappearing favicons have been fixed... only time will tell.

Filip007 30. June 2009, 16:15

Where do i file report for this DSK-####### like Ghosting icons on Personal bar

Or was maybe fixed

the_Arioch 30. June 2009, 16:25

Does anyone used DealExtreme.com ? Especially if behind MS ISA server with password-protection (different allowed internet zones by user accounts in Active Directory) ?

Generally it works relatively ok, except for customers service tickets and sometimes forums. When trying to post the form, Opera goes into infinite loop of connecting <->seding request.

At same time, IE works ok.

Anyone experienced like that ?

Such a short Change log. I'm really disappointed p:

I've noticed that the download (windows msi) is smaller than. Is this only because of missing languages, or has there been some improvement lately?

Philee 30. June 2009, 17:02

@Filip007:
Unfortunately there is no open bug tracking system from Opera.
There is one from Remco 'though:
http://opera.remcol.ath.cx/bugs/
You need a UserJS to have your bug reports get logged there:
