More crash logging and settings for Unite bandwidth throttling
By Daniel Aleksandersendaniel. Friday, July 3, 2009 1:54:00 PM
I’m a Mac product tester who have been working at Opera for 8 months. You may have seen me on our excellent forums already.
Things are settling down as we are now approaching the final release. Here we have got a new development snapshot for you to play around with while its too hot to be outside.
In this build, automated crash logging makes its first appearance on the Mac!
Yey! (Will make my job a lot easier.) When Opera crashes, Developer Tools Access will pop-up asking you for an administrative password. It looks a bit dodgy
, but will [hopefully] not be necessary in the final release. Oh, and we’re doing code signing on the Mac now.We have also added a new advanced settings dialog for Opera Unite. You can set preferences for using UPnP for router port forwarding as well as new preferences for using optional bandwidth throttling for Unite services. (So your friends don’t use up all your bandwidth.)
Have a great summer!

Highlights
- New advanced settings dialog with setting to limit upload bandwidth in Opera Unite
- New look for dialogs and tab bar
- Crash logging on the Mac
Known Issues
- Crash logging on the Mac does not always work
- Linux 64-bit Qt4 builds are missing
- No Linux Intel Qt3 builds due to issues (workaround: Use a Qt4 bundled package)
WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Disable Opera Unite (in opera:config#UserPrefs|EnableUnite ) and restart Opera. Now enable Unite and open Tools menu (without restarting). Opera will crash.

Maybe the last skin with a gradient going from darker on left to lighter on the right will make it look the best.
I am thinking on going back to the skins too.. (The home icon looks like my grandma's house, come on!)...

The skin is becoming more and more blueish with each build, and I've noticed that this blueish stuff really starts to bug me the longer I use it. I also hate that buttons get that intense blue gradient when they get the focus.
Thanks god skins can be changed, so I don't care about it too much.

Or even better, add a button were you can define your own color using a color palette. That would be absolutely awesome.
MartinezZ # Friday, July 3, 2009 2:50:12 PM
Green - how can I disable this button for preview of tabs?
Red - there is too much spaces
Patkos Csabapatkoscsaba # Friday, July 3, 2009 2:51:57 PM
- the menu button still has the "double click bug" (after menu was shown I have to click it twice to have the menu shown again)
- the "trash" button got the same bug, too ... I have to click it twice to get the dropdown with closed pages, than click it once to have it disappear. And no, it's not double click I have to do, but 2 distinct clicks. They can be seconds apart, no problem.
PS: Skin is getting too blueish when None is selected as color scheme. When system color scheme is selected on Linux KDE4 ... I don't know what color scheme it uses, but it gets brown for me. I have nothing brown on my desktop... so this is really strange.

Colourless, bad contrast.
I got an eye ache after I looked at the preferences dialog.
Only one thing is great - new "Go" button.
Z1-AV69 # Friday, July 3, 2009 3:03:12 PM
I'll keep the old one and just take over the new speeddial icon.
Edit: After a sharper look, the dialog tabs are ok actually, but the overall color changes are bad.
mtaki14 # Friday, July 3, 2009 3:03:54 PM
I like the blue highlight when you do a mouse-over over background tabs though:cool:

way to reproduce:
1) http://yandex.ru/yandsearch?text=df
2) scroll down with mouse wheel
3) scroll up with mouse wheel
scrollbag should stuck.
Or it is just me?
by the way, the new theme is TOO BRIGHT! Liked the previous one.

Thank you for the screenshot.
I need to test it on my own, but judging from just the screenshot, the old Build looked far better than this one. But I like the small change in the panel icon.

Looks like the Wikipedia article is then being displayed without any CSS formatting. Any idea why that is happening and how to turn it off?
