Another Unite round

Here's yet another snapshot, with more Opera Unite fixes.

Upgrading to a 10.10 build should work smoothly now. We have also fixed a lot of the connection issues that people were seeing, so most of these problems should be gone now.

Apart from that, the installation of widgets is working again.

Known Issues
  • Some Unix builds may be missing, but most of them will be continuously uploaded
  • Panel bar is showing by default in a clean installation
  • Unite crashes if both UPnP and UPnP Service Discovery are disabled

WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Haven't tried this build yet, can anyone confirm if it's now possible to remove menu icon (when menu is hidden)?

As behavior has changed since Beta 3 or few builds before.

Nevermind, it doesn't work.

I've just noticed that pressing the down arrow key in the search field on the address bar does not open the search dropdown menu, thus making the use of mouse necessary to choose a search engine other than Google. Even if you open the menu with the mouse, the up/and arrow keys do not work to move between the different engines.

It's great but PLEASEEEEEE revert to the old skin where 'new tab' 'panels' and 'closed tabs' didn't look like tabs!

wish you would make the menu, panels and closed tabs buttons look consistent with the theme design

Starting Unite crashes this build instantly for me :frown:

Running Unite services Media Player, Opera Messenger and Document Courier.

Have rolled back to build 4529 whose Unite works without problem.

(Linux, GCC4 shared QT3)

If we change the behavior, it will surely be noted in the changelog... You can hide it by not showing the tab bar head toolbar (the little toolbar that also has the panel toggle button).

Give it a bit, it'll come back, either when you change something about the interface, maybe change something in "Preferences" or when you close and re-open Opera.

Double testing are we...you fixed linux try icon thats nice but still is not transparent (gray backround)

It works! Thank you. I have reset the appearance, went to customize window, checked that icon, switched to off and it's gone.

Previously, it just reappeared

Still not working for me. Tested on qt3 and qt4 versions for both, amd64 and i386 versions; on my native amd64 debian testing and chrooted i386 debian stable.

Tried to drag from nautilus 2.26.3 and gThumb 2.10.11.

WHY!?!? That's a great feature! Why must I navigate all way to a file in "open" dialog when I have this file ready in Nautilus window?

What, you will remove d'n'd to "attachments" section in composer next?

You could but as I'm using only the tab bar and placing buttons elsewhere than tab bar head bar makes them kind of tabs. Looks funny to have a button in a tab. So I've to use the tab bar head bar.

I can confirm on the same OS since yesterday's build. I didn't report it because it works for a friend and mine wasn't a clean install.

I'm going to do it now and I let you know if it works.

EDIT: There is no need of a clean install, the problem happens if you have a custom keyboard file. Delete it, start over and you're done.

No way to get Unite running without crashing the browser over here. Also the home service doesn't show up in the panel at all.

Sorry, I'm back to 1708, again. The last 2 snapshots didn't deliver.

(Also the announcing twitter message from @Opera linked to the last snapshot.)

See the changelog for the previous build, they reverted the fix for the transparent tray icon, because it introduced a lot of other problems.
