Are you referring to detaching tabs and how they used to work?

"moar", someone visits 4chan way too much :-)

TheBigBadWolfy Thursday, September 10, 2009 1:47:05 PM

doh yikes scared furious

When Opera downloads something and Downloads Tab is active Opera still takes up too much (50% on dual core) CPU resources.

When Downloads Tab is not active everything is normal.

OS:Windows XP SP3
AV: Norton Internet Security 2009 16.7.2.11

ps. will try with KIS 2010.

Results:
OS: Windows XP SP3
AV: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

when Opera window is moved with file being downloaded and Downloads tab active, Opera process takes more than 30% of CPU on both cores.

hurug Thursday, September 10, 2009 1:51:02 PM

OK good. Thanks moar

Maybe but...
Think of it this way.
Ebay works.
Newegg works.
Yahoo mail works.
Hulu works.

What more could you ask for ? smile

As long as it doesn't seem like it's spying on me lol I'm all good.
This release finally integrates the speed that 9.5 had, but with a ton of new fixes that actually work out good.

The only gripes I have are:
The buttons on the tab toolbar, such as:
Zoom (Looks huge, perhaps bigger then the tabs themselves).
New tab.
Bookmarks/downloads.
Add bookmark.
(Those look small compared to the actual tabs).

ANYWAYS.
This is my fav release so far.
I'm a happy munchkin for sure.

Thanks again.
smile

Well, i don't use any of those sites (would have used hulu but: "We're sorry, currently our video library can only be streaming within the united states")

so, I could ask for Detach tabs bigsmile

are you going to "implement" the opera:config#AutoUpdate|DownloadAllSnapshots feature ?

or is it just a label?

"Calculate" menu doesn't render properly until mouse is hovered over options. (DSK-259059)
http://www08.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=gravitation

Not sure whether this was fixed on Wolfram's end or Opera but this bug is sorted. smile

1. Silverlight Continental case study crash (DSK-261773
http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

This is kinda fixed. It doesn't seem to crash as often but it will still crash. Silverlight just recently updated to v3.0.40818.0 so that may have something to do with it not crashing as much. There are also videos when you click play it will insta crash (crash report sent).

bugs.opera.com/wizard
Bug reporting drop down menu picks up Win7 x64 as Windows NT. User agent for os is: Windows NT 6.1; U; en. While NT is probably correct in some sense is there a way to differentiate between win7?

Also, spell check doesn't work in crash menu dialogs. While it will underline the words and give you suggestions after right clicking, selecting new spelling will not update original incorrect text.

Vertical scrollbar disappears after loading site. (DSK-259056)
http://www.lovdata.no/all/hl-19020522-010.html

Still present, I think there is a forum post listing a number of "long" sites that scrollbar disappears.

Keep up the good work!

New mail compose when HTML mode is default is still bugged - font not initialized well in size and typeface bug
Details at:

Andrew Samandrewsam Thursday, September 10, 2009 4:34:31 PM

Guys the new menu and toolbar highlights (or colors or whatever you call it) is great... subtle change but looks good.. particularly when making the color scheme to none, it matches the Opera look and feel no end (Windows 7)... even better in KDE as well!
