Help us load test our Unite proxy servers with Sonar
By Tommy A. Olsen. Monday, 14. September 2009, 10:27:03
This blog post is shamelessly copied from our Opera Unite blog.
With all the testing that has been going on in the last few weeks, it seems our proxy servers have been behaving well. We figured that is probably not enough though. We want to put the proxy servers through some more stress. This is all to make way for Opera 10.10, which will have Opera Unite as a regular feature of the desktop browser.
To do this, we have created a new service, "Sonar". This service will help us load test our proxy servers even better. All this service does, is sit quietly on your computer. When we run a test, data is requested from around the world. We request a small amount of data from each instance of this service, to help us observe our proxy's behaviour.
Now, once again, to be able to test this on a large scale, from every corner of the world, we need your help. All you need to do is download Sonar and keep it running on your Opera Unite builds.
Of course, you can stop the service at any time to opt out of the testing. Once again, thanks for all the help. You guys are great !

For the moment the most important services are up and running : file sharing, file uploader, media player, web server... That's what most people want.
If there's more service, that's cool but we have already the most important in my opinion. I'd rather see Opera Unite launched as soon as possible.

Is locked computer the reason or something else? I am also running some services now at work, and this computer is of course not locked. Could anyone check:

I have changed absolutely nothing in my any settings, so the issue was on the Opera servers side
