Faster photo sharing, and more

Here's another Unite build for you to test.

This time we have worked on making image generation in the Photo Sharing application faster (DSK-271038), and as you can see there are a few other tweaks as well. Give it a spin, and let us know if you find any regressions since the previous build.

Thank you!
Photo Sharing is indeed less CPU intensive here (still too much to continue normal work on my 2 years old Centrino laptop when accessed), apparently at the expense of preview quality though.

Just wanted to report a bug I found in the last build:

The received box for mail shows new messages as unread, but if they become classified as spam and spam is set to be marked as read automatically, the received box will still show that it has unread messages.

zombie Thursday, November 19, 2009 10:03:44 PM

If I try to view .tif files in Photo Sharing, it will only show "Preparing...", and never load.

My issue is solved. Thanks.

nahtanoj999 Thursday, November 19, 2009 10:24:07 PM

The photo sharing application shows nothing for SVGs. I know that SVGs are not photos, but it seems that adding SVG support would be particularly easy because no scaling in advance would need to be done.

Daniel HendrycksDanielHendrycks Thursday, November 19, 2009 10:26:45 PM

+1 SVG support for photos. Also please add unite.opera.com as a safe site so I do not have to confirm an app download.

Does this page on Adobe's site render incorrectly for anyone else? On macosx 10.6.2 the "check" box column is HUGE, pushing rest of columns off the page to the right.

squillaz: everything's fine here (WinXP)

about half the size of the components column here on Win7 x64, though I think its supposed to be much thinner

Preview quality should be the same old (and still deserving an upgrade in future version), but at least the speed is better, especially for reasonably sized images. Luckily I can't afford one of these: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0909/09092802hasselblad.asp whistle

My keyboard unconfiguring only with Opera!! (This Build)

Abrahamfenietzsche Thursday, November 19, 2009 11:55:26 PM

GUT!

georgewiczkowski Thursday, November 19, 2009 11:55:42 PM

I still experience one bug: after intensive use of mouse gestures, especially RMB+wheel Opera sometimes acts as if RMB is still pressed ie. moving the mousewheel switches tabs instead of scrolling, Left-click induces Back command.

All goes back to normal after right-click but it's still a bit annoying.

Had this on every Opera10 build, mayby even some Kestrel, but I'm not sure, on both Vista (32bit) and 7x64, and its not my mouse's fault

I sometimes notice the same thing on XP.
Did you file a bug report?

Adam Kaczmarekadamkpl Friday, November 20, 2009 12:12:31 AM

When I click Lanuch Application on http://unite.opera.com/applications/ it says:

Your browser does not run Opera Unite applications

Please download Opera 10.10 beta before launching Opera Unite applications.

To be truthful I don't remember, so I guess not, doing it now.

Thx for fixing the aspect-ratio rendering problem with the Unite Photo app. It was squishing vertical photos in the last build. wink

Please consider adding a LAST link to quickly navigate a large set of photos.

Also, I notice too much white space at the bottom-right area at the Photo app page (given widescreen displays like on my MacBook). I may suggest better "wrapping-under" the thumbnails maybe.

Am I the only one who can't access admin pages in Unite Apps?

netwolf Friday, November 20, 2009 1:24:20 AM

Hmm, none of my running (and working) Unite apps are shown in my.opera.com/<username>/unite. Even though I enabled 'Make app. visible on Opera Unite pages', it looks as if they were not running.

Also, status tells me "No direct connection possible".
(no proxy, firewall or router)
Why so?

EDIT: 'Never ending sync on exit' strikes here too.

No problem here on XP (using default Home computer name).

leighmanLeighman Friday, November 20, 2009 1:29:43 AM

Seems everyone's having the Opera Link sync problem. I've had it for a couple of builds now, but only intermittent. Now every time I quit Opera.
Ubuntu, 9.10
Everything else seems good =D

zombie Friday, November 20, 2009 2:03:47 AM

Confirming the never ending sync problem. qt4-64bit deb.

Ferrisferrisnox Friday, November 20, 2009 2:47:44 AM

Opera link just hangs and hangs every time I quit with this one... it also seems to forget that I asked it to start with speed dial each time. Its always asking me what to do.

Syncing issue here too. Someone file a report. It's time for bed. zzz https://bugs.opera.com/wizard/

Tonyyaibakt Friday, November 20, 2009 6:29:01 AM

i got an bug with opera when playing around in flickr. most of the times (not all the times), i cannot add notes in the photos even though i already installed flashplayer, shockwave, java... With other browsers in my PC such as IE8, chrome, FF, i can do that easily without any bugs. i tried both opera 10.01 and 10.10, but still...

so, will there be a fix on this issue in next build? ^^ thank you so much.

cousin333 Friday, November 20, 2009 7:30:47 AM

1. opera:historysearch refuses to work with search term "opera". It's good with other words, although it doesn't find everything. Exp. it says no entry for "unite" although I have already read this page. The URL autocomplete finds it.

2. What is the official version number? 10.1 (like in installer) or 10.10 (like in opera:about)?

Using Opera 10.10.1890 on WinXP SP3

I know that bug from earlier builds, but with the ctrl button. I thought it was a local problem... perhaps this is a bug in Opera too.
Can you please add it to your existing DSK?

Thanks
