Unite fixes and Opera Link

We're continuing our polishing of Opera 10.10, so here's a new build with some important fixes.

Opera Link should be working without having to log in every time you start Opera. We have also fixed a crash in the Unite setup wizard, and fixed a bug where the Unite password is remembered even if "remember password" is unchecked.

The default message in Opera Mail is now translated again.

Thank you, but no changes to Unite page not showing apps and 'No direct connection possible' as described here: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=305681&t=1258722075&page=1#comment3241111

Sweet its Snapshot Frenzy This Week! Keep 'em Coming! bigsmile

*UPDATE*: I want to report a "regression" in the past two snapshots. Opera Link has continuously gives the message shown below and Opera Link keeps "syncing" or tries to sync. I have to manually exit Opera. This happens every time I try to shutdown Opera

I'm afraid we won't see any chances in this regard in 10.10. See also http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=298893 which unfortunately still lacks any official statement... sad

Finding errors in built-in mail.css, notified by error console, when selecting no message in mail or feeds views, in Opera 10.10 build 1892 (WinXP).

Looked in the mail.css. It contains 2 data uris with escaped SVG statements. According to the error console both are faulty.

Nice, Unite and Link are working. But it is still not possible to have a domain redirect to the content of the webserver-app as described here: http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/show.dml/4509897#comment10686975

When I click Lanuch Application on http://unite.opera.com/applications/ it says:

Your browser does not run Opera Unite applications

Please download Opera 10.10 beta before launching Opera Unite applications.

Anyone uses Opera qt4 builds in non-KDE environments? Fluxbox or something.

I use awesome wm, and when I run Opera, blank "icon" appears in tray. It's blank until I right-click it, then menu is shown and brand new Opera icon appears. At last.
Anyone else sees that?

barbara07 Friday, November 20, 2009 7:48:28 PM

The fixes look good. wink

Noticed this page has dead links, nothing is clickable; refresh doesn't fix it. OSX-intel v10.5.8.

Alexsable Friday, November 20, 2009 7:48:35 PM

Thank you guys!-)))
Great to see this Opera Link issue fixed.. but - like in some prev. builds - Flash content is not always recognized on some pages, e.g. http://www.marketwatch.com/ ...
Otherwise - a great snapshot!

All those ugly flash ads DO load for me there (OSX-intel build). (Good site for an Opera Turbo site prefs setting. hint, hint). wink

Sure! It's a Flash ad just below the table with U.S. stock indexes/gold/oil prices, on the right close to the top of their homepage, which is sometimes recognized as just an image.. sometimes it's all right, but with some other ads.. maybe those ads vary in some characteristics, I can only guess.. I'm using Opera on a machine with Vista HP, by the way..

netwolf Friday, November 20, 2009 8:09:41 PM

Oh, well, those work too, but were initially filtered by my content blocker.

dotroni Friday, November 20, 2009 8:29:49 PM

What's going on here?
I tried to access http://xxxx.xxxxxxx.operaunite.com/
And got this error
"You tried to access an Opera Unite application that is currently unavailable."
But I did not try to access an application, just the user's home page.
The error message also included this:
"You can check at http://my.opera.com/xxxxxx/unite/ to see if they are running any other Opera Unite applications"
I did and they were.
It seems that typing a user's url, without including an application in the url, results in an error message.

Problems with reloading pages! Happens from time to time. I have to stop loading and load again, than it works fine. Don´t know what it is?

MetalRaise Friday, November 20, 2009 8:59:17 PM

@ Opera staff:

How can I prevent Opera from re-adding the Firefox plugin directory to Plugin Path after each restart of Opera?

I'm using beta plugins with Firefox to test, and it doesn't make much sense to include them when testing Opera snapshots since I could run into bugs that are related to the beta plugins from the Firefox plugin directory. In the past, removing the path from opera:config was saved permanently...

As I reconsider my question about RC3..

Did U ever think about sueing bluO for their logo? I still try to encourage you to do so -> http://alturl.com/preview.php?id=gwhi | http://www.blu-o.lu/ Ok, seriously, what do you say to that after comparing? I'd like to know, and btw(!): I 'hate' blu-o. Don't let us go political here please.

Not in the same business/market (they don't make a web browser) Different color, is slightly cropped (top & bottom), etc. and I don't think the "O" by itself is a Trademark (or can even be trademarked) especially since I think the Font is either public domain, or free to use in some form.

Could also "sue" Oprah, for "Oprah Magazine". Or Maybe Cirque De Soleil...etc, etc... all it would end up doing, is either get laughed out of court if it even made it that far, or end up costing a bunch of time and money, and negative advertising for Opera.
