Disappointing that MDI browsing is still just as buggy and problematic as it was a few versions ago. Still barely usable for someone who wants to browse with restored pages, like in 10.10 and earlier.

Hopefully now that other bugs have been fixed, and stability's better, the MDI UI will receive a bit more attention...

poorrichard01 9. February 2010, 23:13

LOL, no offense, but I have heard of a Beta and I've heard of an RC, which usually comes after the Beta. But this is the first time I've ever heard of a "Beta RC." Will this lead to the next stage of an RC Beta?

PraetorianX 9. February 2010, 23:14

Yeahee. New tab gesture seems fixed. It goes to speed dial and the focus is on the address field!

Still, the problem with certain Moddb videos persists:
http://www.moddb.com/events/2009-mod-of-the-year-awards/features/players-choice-best-upcoming-mod-2009

^^ the video there plays ok in Opera 10.10

I have only a question : the Beta will be available only for Windows ?
Thank you for your answer :)

Einar Holten 9. February 2010, 23:15

Good job so far! Looking forward to the beta!

Having Facebook open and a few other tabs open, after switching between the other tabs then going back to the Facebook tab causes this to happen to the chat-bar:

AFAIK, the beta will be for Windows.

Ryzzo 9. February 2010, 23:19

The "problem" exists that if you choose "show tab bar only if needed" an unexperienced user has no chance to close the browser.

And http://www.kino.to does not load the content for me. Can anyone confirm this?

Michel Budnyatsky 9. February 2010, 23:19

1. Opera still crashes on http://www.7-zip.org

2. Search on page still works strange & noncomfortable.

Matt 9. February 2010, 23:19

Hopefully this memory leak is fixed. Yesterday my opera.exe went up to 1.6 gigs with like 3 tabs open.

Running win 7 32 bit.

xeon0541 9. February 2010, 23:22

hi all,

who can confirm still can't use "block content" feature, try to right click "block content", the crash is caused.

Aditya Patel 9. February 2010, 23:22

any of you guys experience memory leak?

Daniel James Hendrycks 9. February 2010, 23:23

slalaurette 9. February 2010, 23:23

www.lanacion.com.ar (the newspaper I work for) keeps crashing Opera, not only upon searching (buscador.lanacion.com.ar) but also from the article pages. It's literally unreadable with this browser.

This is a Windows 7 feature - NOT Opera.

At least one of the "Stability fixes in Carakan" mentioned by Huib is for a serious memory leak.

poorrichard01 9. February 2010, 23:25

Youtube still broken. I've just about accepted the fact that YouTube is not likely to ever work correctly in any nearterm version of Opera...which I suppose is not horrible if that's my only problem.

Einar Holten 9. February 2010, 23:26

The text field scrolling is still broken. I would say that is a show stopper.

lwiczek 9. February 2010, 23:28

I beg you - drop the gloss on the Opera menu button :(

z-o-o-m 9. February 2010, 23:28

coool ;)

just ... some things completely disappeared from the menu
- browser identification
- cookies and password management

and
- google wave still doesn't work
- facebook chat is in wrong place

faczever 9. February 2010, 23:30

Yeeeh! xD

samMD 9. February 2010, 23:31

sweet thanks any news on the "Ghosting" issue in 10.5 ?

DSK-279442

and multiple opera icons that show up in the tray (its still happening) is there a reason?

I've finally just ditched it and inserted a user-created button instead. Maybe someone will create a button that looks like the excellent button they had on the earliest 10.5 snapshots.

PraetorianX 9. February 2010, 23:32

This page appears horribly broken in 10.5: http://www.sport-fm.gr/

(let it load and then scroll down and up a bit)

Problem seems to be less obvious if I block the ad in the right-middle-side, but if I refresh the page there is still much weirdness going on (stretched page).

fjsferreira 9. February 2010, 23:36

Is there a way to disable tray icon without disabling win7 download progress bar in taskbar? That happens if you use the --notrayicon switch

jlg 9. February 2010, 23:36

It looks bad

Here is the current state of my little bugs.

  • Win7 thumbnails have messed up favicons http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/3964/72078129.png DSK-279444
  • Search button does not work on sites other than speeddial DSK-279272
  • Copy and paste into forms like Notes does not work. DSK-276279
  • Clicking away onto an area with no action on speed dial does not take the cursor blinker away from the addressbar and searchfield. DSK-278398
  • Panels have a line that goes over the toolbar on the right. Panels are not very consistant with the skin. DSK-278399
  • The status bar remains tall in height even when nothing inhabits it (buttons, that is). DSK-278400
  • The address bar does not have rounded corners like the search bar. DSK-278401
  • The search drop down will be too long if you are going implementing search suggest. Solution: Make the search engines only have the favicon then on hover we would get hover description. Like IE8's search suggestion. DSK-278402
  • Right click menus and other dropdowns are not native. DSK-278405
  • Hover effect on tabs makes text go downward. DSK-278406
  • Hover effect on things (Like an image when you see the ALT description) is not native to Windows 7. DSK-278408
  • Find disappears while typing, same with other interaction. (If I do not have find as a search engine the find function still should show up when I press “.”, it is very aggravating) DSK-278410
  • Open save dialogue is not native DSK-278411
  • Find doesn't remember preferences (like match case is checked then closed then not checked on reopen) DSK-278412
  • Favicon for private (phantom) mode is not 16x16 DSK-278413
  • The search dropdown, address dropdown, zoom button, and menu button need an on and off function. (Like described in DSK-260199) DSK-278415
  • Resizing the search box is jittery DSK-278416
  • No Undo (CTRL+Z) on speeddial DSK-278417
  • Favicons in jumplist are not assigned to the right site. DSK-278418
  • Middle click icon flickers when hovering over content that is not of the page. E.g. A toolbar
    DSK-278419

  • Favicon when go back to speed dial DSK-278421
  • 1. Open new private tab 2. Go to speeddial 3. Open a site from speeddial in new tab (shift+click) The new tab isn't private. DSK-278422

  • When clicking on Pin tab then hovering the lock will go up, when unchecking the pin option the “X” will reposition itself downward. DSK-278597
  • Private tab doesn’t open from jumplist DSK-278598
  • Download dialogue “.exe” icon is cut off a bit DSK-278599
  • Opera Dragonfly does not have a favicon DFL-922
  • Multiple tray icons in windows 7
  • Dragonfly buttons not at the same level http://screenshotuploader.com/screen/nMxd0j6mMFH
    Bug: DFL-918

  • Repaint does not happen for scrollable text DSK-278600
  • Speed dial>search dropdown>select an engine>suggestion field does not disappear DSK-279311

  • Less bugs than last time.

    Ferris 9. February 2010, 23:37

Congratulations!! I think you guys are ready.

    Only thing I have left:
Top Title bar is still not correct width for javascript pop-up windows.

    no more love 9. February 2010, 23:39

    Michel Budnyatsky 9. February 2010, 23:39

Opera doesn't get all scores and lose to Chrome in browser test on http://www.browserscope.org/

    Z1-AV69 9. February 2010, 23:40

DSK-279366 Toggling menu while using specific skin crashes opera

Thanks for this one. Imho the see-through text in plugins (DSK-277964) would be a rather important fix too. Now that Opera is using java plugin, the bug is there too (making dark text or background transparent).

    Robert Maupin 9. February 2010, 23:41

    Great!
