Just installed it...

Same build number as Beta RC2.

So, if you have Opera_1050_3247 for Windows... it is the same as this b1 release.

FavDjiXas Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:27:48 AM

Same issues, so will report:

ctrl+t still opens in backgorund tab

when entering password and pressing enter, esc button stops page loading instead of canceling password save dialog.

all this ui change to no idea what is full of issues and there are no pros, interface is slow, buggy and does not work like it should.

Try downloading again. 10.5 beta for Windows is a new build. :-)

Can't confirm. Works fine (opens foregroun tab) in Windows 7 x64

Apple Events are back - What does it means?

René-Gilles DeberdtNao Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:33:16 AM

Same showstopper issues for me... sad (Windows XP RC3, 2GB Ram, about 60 tabs open, started the tab list from scratch from first installing the 10.50 pre-alpha, now keeping the tab list from update to update.)

- Ghost window when opening. I used to be able to get rid of it by either maximizing or minimizing all tabs (and/or changing the current skin to a native or non-native one), then restarting Opera. This no longer works. :-/

- Google Reader still fails to work. "This is taking longer than usual. Try reloading the page." No pre-alpha, alpha or beta version of 10.50 has ever been able to load my Google Reader page.

- Sometimes crashes even when I'm not on my computer.... And therefore not interacting with Opera at all sad I just come back to my computer, and see the Crash Report dialog box.

- The Developer Tools (Dragonfly) only work for the very first tab in the tab list. It won't work on any other tab, it will simply load and be set to the first tab.

- Sometimes, a random site (all of the tabs attached to that domain, including its subdomains) will tell me "Waiting for DNS confirmation of domain cookie" and stall forever. I have to restart and then it will work again just fine. This never happened in Opera 9.64.

I would appreciate if the Opera team could acknowledge these issues, or at least tell us that they're unable to reproduce them.

PS: many of the smaller issues are still there, too, but I don't mind them too much. Still, things such as "Go to web address" or "View source" when selecting some text won't work, for instance. I'll keep using v10.50 for now because it's so GOOD and still better than v9.64 which I'd been using for so long. If only it didn't crash and Google Reader could work...! I don't want to switch to another RSS reader...

Mac users: I have written a short post about Growl notifications if you want to know more about them. smile

Here are my pet bugs. Not to spam dev's but to get feedback from community: Can you confirm them (so I can fill a bug report)? Or are they already reported (give me the BugNumber please)?
  • Still my opinion that this is a Beta Show-Stopper: Crash on several pages on Windows XP SP3 http://www.7-zip.org/ http://www.uploaded.to http://uk.tv.ign.com/ http://www.racesport.nl/ http://www.cowonglobal.com/ http://www.siller.de/unternehmen/Unternehmen.htm http://proxify.co.uk/p/011010A0000110/http://www.userfriendly.org and many other more
  • Someone filled a bug report???

Edit:Sorry, checked with Build 3247 instead of 3248.

  • Not confirmed bug: 1. Open a PDF-File in Browser 2. Click in the adress-bar 3. Minimize Opera into Taskbar 4. Maximize Opera again 5. Bug - hard to describe but I'm sure you'll see it when it happens to you too.

  • Not confirmed bug: Edit: According to karolp and FataL, this is a known issue DSK-251769: http://freenet-homepage.de/teal_one/opera4.html

  • Not confirmed bug: Pin-Icon jumpes when Tab-Bar refreshes first time

  • Not confirmed bug: Edit: According to karolp, this is a known issue: Downloadicons looks very ugly http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/new-snapshot?startidx=150#comments

  • Not confirmed bug: Edit: Confirmed by René-Gilles Deberdt. Reported as DSK-280449: Refreshproblems on Favicons and Pagetitle, for example: 1. Open new tab 2. Go to google.com 3. Go Back 4. BUG: Favicon keeps to "Google" 5. Go forward 6. BUG: Favicon is Speedial und Title is Speedial

  • Anyone can confirm anything? If so, I'll file a BugReport. Or is one of them reported already?

    Thanks!

A simple request, please add a Ctrl+Shift+Del shortcut to 'Delete Private Data' window, now that it changed location whether you wanna reach it from the menu bar (_T_ools|Delete Private Data) or the menu button (S_e_ttings|Delete Private Data).

Teal_One, I confirm the favicon bug. I noticed that too but it's not a very important bug so I forgot to mention it.

    René-Gilles DeberdtNao Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:50:08 AM

Here's another freebie bug... Nothing showstopping, but it's been bothering my power-browser habits...

From any page, middle-click to open a link in a tab. Do it on several links, to open multiple tabs. Close the current tab.
The new tabs being highlighted is the LAST one you opened.

In earlier versions of Opera, it used to be the FIRST one you opened. When closing that tab, it would then switch to the next in chronological order. Now it's entirely reversed. This bothers me because usually the first tab I would open is the one I want to read first. Now I have to be careful to open the most interesting link last, if I want to read it first.

I'm sure it can be fixed easily, thanks smile

It appears some mirrors have 3247 instead of 3248. I just downloaded and got 3247, I'll try another mirror.

    Phaniphanikumarseelam Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:52:02 AM

Congrats on the Beta release. Now can we get more new features and skin fixes that we have been promised? party yes

    Seems far from beta wink

    PraetorianX Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:53:27 AM

How can we get the 3248 build? I tried 3 times now, and always get the 3247 one!

    Some more to confirm:
    1) Mailbox on https://www.gmx.com is still not shown after login. (it's like that for ~5 builds now)
    2) I'm still unable to post on forums running on woltlab 3.0x.
    3) Entering text on maps.google.com crashes Opera (the length of the string varies)
    4) random freezes on right mouse button action in the mailpanel

It happens from time to time, I have no idea what triggers it. One time everything works fine, another, all tabs open in background.

Also, is this me or when for instance scrolling this comments page, it works poorly (mouse wheel)?

Confirmed as FIXED. Thanks a lot.

All other bugs are still in there - however I don't consider them as beta-show-stoppers smile.

Many thanks for the new Linux build.

The first time i tried to connect to Link there was another crash, but none since then.

Using the middle mouse button for panning is still not working.

Opera really struggles with the google analytics dashboard. It works better than in the previous build though.

    Hi guys,

I really appreciate your effort and speed, however "insert a note" is still not working. I know it sounds like minor issue, but I am using this feature all the time. I thought that in beta it will be fixed sad.

Btw, my Opera crashes on http://theoatmeal.com/ (Both Win7 RC 64bit and WinXP SP2 32bit).

    Can anyone confirm?

PS: Sorry if this was reported already, I didn't have time to go trough all comments in last week sad

    Phaniphanikumarseelam Thursday, February 11, 2010 9:06:34 AM

I can confirm that the 7Zip site is not crashing anymore on the new build up
