gmx.com doesn't work for me, I can't login.
A java based share dealing platform from etrade.com doesn't show.
Zoom always shows 100%
Had a few graphic glitches between the panel and the browser window when I first opened it but has been fine for a while now...
With my previous skin a lot of text wasn't showing in the menus.
I choose to "hide" my windows toolbar, and it doesn't reappear when opera is my primary program

This is the first time I've upgraded from 10.10 and I love the text search, the increased browser real-estate, the speed... congratulations!

Suggestion: in full screen mode take the mouse to the top of the screen to reveal tabs (present in ie8)

what gives?

well first I would say have you set the 'connections' in 'tools, prefs, adv, network' to a good hig value...

and next I just compared youtube in opera VS FF 3.6 - the vid in opera is very smooth, while in FF it is very 'stop-motion'!!

So what do you prefer, jerky video in FF, or good video in Opera?? (just click pause..)
I find that youtube actually limit their speed, to stop overloading the network... and mostly the youtube 'progressbar' is constructed by javascript, and has no real connection to the loading... and I am sure ther are som 'browser detection' issues as well... smile

opera:config#UserPrefs|AlternativePageCycleMode 0 or 2 is buggy when using mouse wheel up. It's impossible to click on visited tabs. Only Mouse wheel down works. Graphical bug too: Image hosted by uppix.net

I want to tell you that Opera 10.50 is utterly fantasic but that such a superlative does not do it full justice! If it continues to get any better then I might start crying ... bigsmile

This looks very much like the plugins-issue with fully transparent skins.

Try clearing private data.

For those who want to use Google Wave, you could try that : http://my.opera.com/sitepatching/blog/2010/02/05/ready-to-wave

I'm not a gwave user, so I don't know what this tweaking will result in.

Oh yes, you are right. I see my desktop through the letters. The darker the background the lesser I see this effect.
http://250kb.de/u/100212/p/uFh16uQQmmAw.PNG -
But is it a bug? I think the transparent background has to add within the fonts anti-aliased algorithm. But I fear this could be a performance issue. I prefer this calculation as optional setting. - In my mind is: "What to do if the user moves the browser window?
Or is this effect just the smoke effect of fonts?
http://250kb.de/u/100212/p/33Ku9kmAuQFu.PNG -
How do I set this smoke effect "off" in skins.ini ?

TA5K Friday, February 12, 2010 1:35:31 PM

Stress testing Opera Mail steels the browser performance. I can't write anything without being interrupted every 5 letters pirate

http://250kb.de/u/100212/p/EtE73P2OuGMg.PNG -

Opera Mail need to use an independent task for down- and uploading mails. And deleting thousands of mails stops my work with Opera completely chef

http://250kb.de/u/100212/p/up4GQJAWnuYI.PNG -

Why not use a client-/server model between Opera and Operas tray icon?!.
Btw: I love Operas Spam filter flirt

Kavinkavinv Friday, February 12, 2010 1:49:43 PM

I cannot forward mail using hotmail.
Problem:
Mail content is not displayed.Text area is blank.
This is very annoying.Hope Opera retifies this in the next release.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but selecting text is kind of weird in 10.5 beta on Windows 7.

The context menu appears when double clicking a word, which makes it a bit tricky to select a paragraph.

You triple click and will see the context menu flicker. The triple click will also fail sometimes and only select one word.

Would be great if this could be addressed.

Thanks for a very nice release.

in my humble opinion as a non-programmer, plugins assume a black background that would be there without the full transparency setting. So I imagine the best fix would be to give plugins their own black background.

This is getting off-topic here, but the glow effect seems to appear whenever a text is on a transparent background. The only way to avoid it is to define a background image that is not fully transparent. 2% alpha should be enough.

Try click four times - it selects a paragraph but I confirm it is a little bit tricky.

I also submit the error that Saulo Benigno said, but still nothing! sad
I found very useful click the notification on the bottom right to open the file i just download, but not working fine, just popups the open session dialog :-S

Erunno Friday, February 12, 2010 3:36:59 PM

Opera 10.50's implementation of tabs on top has a usability flaw in my opinion: When the browser windows is maximized the tabs do *not* touch the upper border of the screen, thus forcing the user to move the mouse pointer a few pixels down in order to select a tab. I feel that this is unnecessarily cumbersome and leaves out one of the better ideas Google's Chrome invented UI-wise.

words are "blurry, hazy, and glowing" in opera 10.5 beta on youtube site. This is mainly to the full transparent issues in the "Z1-Glass" theme, which I guess needs a fix from Opera. DSK-277964

Hello everyone,

What I want to propose for mac users.

As Mac Os has native pdf support I wonder Can you make such a function in Opera in line pdf support? Firefox has plug in for this and Safari of course. It is very hard to use Opera compare to Safari when you look through big amount pdf files. Opera is not competitor to Safari here. I had to switch to Safari because I look through a lot of pdf every day.

Opera 10.50 is alpha now. So i hope you have enough time to include this option for Mac users, I think we all appreciate it a lot. Opera will have the same usability as Safari or Firefox.

Thank you very much for your work desktop team.

Regards.

These few pixels are meant for Windows 7. So people with Win 7 can drag and snap Opera to maximize it.

And both Win 7 and Vista users can double click on those pixels to restore the window to a smaller size. In short, it is not a flaw, they just made a different choice. The right choice IMO.

I use the 'hidden' function for the taskbar and with the new Opera I can't access it anymore with the mouse. (Win7x64)
Normally you see a glimpse at the bottom but not if Opera is active. Only way to access it is through the windows key.

Another annoying thing. Why in Shodans name doesn't Opera show the last active tab I used before minimizing if I click on it in the taskbar.
Now I need 2 clicks and often have to search for the right tab, far from an improvement.

A known issue AFAIK

das4cker Friday, February 12, 2010 4:33:13 PM

This bug appears when you close the tab and after that undo it with ctrl+z:

KawaKyoufuKawa Friday, February 12, 2010 5:01:11 PM

Here's something I found on my own site, http://helmet.kafuka.org: in the "buttons!" panel, stuff disappears when hovering over the items in the left column. These image links have opacity when not being pointed at and a border. This also happens when navigating by keyboard (shift + arrow keys).

Also, there's a sometimes-bug when double clicking the tab separator - it sometimes leaves the tabs and New Tab button visually unresponsive. Hovering over them does not light them up and the mouse cursor is the horizontal split used by the bar edge. However, clicking the tabs or New Tab button does work.

Other than that, great work. up

Hugo Del Castillohcastill Friday, February 12, 2010 5:07:16 PM

I know its been asked before, but would you consider adding the Private Tab option on the Site Specif Preferences.

That way, every time u visit that one site, Private is turned on automatically for that site. idea idea

Yes, and the area makes perfect sense in a non-maximized state for the use case you described. It is obstructive though when the window is already maximized as it makes it harder to select tabs (see also the much-cited Fitt's Law).

I disagree as this is an optimization for the uncommon case (changing between maximzed/non-maximized state) at the expense of the common case (selecting tabs). Chrome makes it trivially easy to select tabs when the window is maximized as it only requires horizontal aiming. Opera simply missed one of the major usability improvements for mouse users when using tabs on top.

big .png pictures doesn't load smoothly (like before). now it loads about an inch of picture and then stops (picture is still loading but it is not visible). when the picture is loaded than just pops out whole picture.

In WIn7 it is still needed in case you want to snap and unmaximize (if that word exists...wink )the window.

I guess it is the compromise between the Win 7 functionality and Fitt's law.

nicolaschevreux Friday, February 12, 2010 5:48:33 PM

Can somebody explain to me why the behavior of the "find in pages" (Ctrl + F and ".") have changed?

I used to search for some text in a web page by clicking CTRL + F, entering the word I am looking for, and pressing enter. Now, this just searches for this word in Google.

So:
1. instead of pressing enter, I have to move the mouse all the way till the small arrow
2. even if Google is not my default search engine, this CTRL+F always land on the big G's page
3. same thing with the "." shortcut. Has "search as you type" been flushed down the drain?

Anyway, is this a bug, or am I just totally inadapted to a new functionality?

For me this works as expected. Clean installation of Opera 10.5 beta (though I never had the problem you mention even with previous builds of 10.5 alpha, that I tested).

The "search as you type" is even enhanced compared to Opera 10.10.
It works with either "." or Ctrl+F, you get a bar below the address bar where you type the key word(s) and the screen is darkened highlighting those words. It's really cool!
