Second! But i'm windows user, but always i'm glad smile !

Dustin WilsonKhadgar Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:01:43 PM

I've been testing (and have submitted quite a few bugs)!

But you'll have to wait until I get home again. You released it after I got to work.

alekksander Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:02:35 PM

New HTTP auth window is interesting idea (I like merging of it with URL), but unfortunately looks ugly with addressbar takes full width of the window.

evilcokemachine Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:19:18 PM

I'll definitely try it when I get to the mac at work later today !

Pap Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:22:06 PM

Just tried this latest build and still having these problems:

Can't copy page text to clipboard. I could use the browser as my primary browser if that got fixed.

Typing lag is much improved, but still a lot of initial lag for a few seconds. After that it's fine.

Mac OS X 10.6.2

Karolhexplor Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:37:50 PM

1. Personal Bar is showing only one bookmark (older versions were fine)
2. Typing still damn slooow

Danieledarklink88 Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:44:50 PM

wohoooo (almost) beta release! great i will squeeze this build like a lemon!

Harlekin Mondharlekinmond Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:52:12 PM

Problem with flash (on the Mac version)...

Test it on : http://harlekinmond.free.fr/opera/operabugs/flashonmac.html
or watch the video here : http://files.myopera.com/harlekinmond/opera/operabugs/flashonmac2.mp4

Please fix this love

Jeff ™intelimac20inch Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:56:25 PM

up coffee will test the new build as much as possible.

Danieledarklink88 Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:56:42 PM

problem: after using opera link the search search in page as you type does not work anymore.
Update: problem does not appear if i don't synchronize the search engines

Jeff ™intelimac20inch Tuesday, February 23, 2010 5:20:30 PM

turning on smooth scrolling under opera:config slows the browser down significantly. Alot of beachballs.

ggorg Tuesday, February 23, 2010 5:43:41 PM

Still doesn't work. Hangs at startup on a

[NSMenuItem setCommand:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance

error. I have been trying each Opera 10.50_* version on a MacBook Pro and a (stable enough) hackintosh running Snow Leopard 10.6.2. Only a few of them run and these are painfully unusable since they have both problems customising the appearance and importing/using 10.10 bookmarks (conversion is too slow for my big bookmarks file, then bookmarks disappear after relaunching Opera and the application crawls).

techlawsam Tuesday, February 23, 2010 5:54:26 PM

so mac 10.4.11 is not supported? I can install any of the current snapshots will OS X 10.4.x not be supported?! I want to test the mac version but it would be a bummer if 10.4 is not supported

I can confirm this. Also using 10.6.2

Opera Link won't sync sad

Danieledarklink88 Tuesday, February 23, 2010 6:39:09 PM

Sometimes opera uses 99% of my cpu...THIS is a beta blocker! I've never had this problem in old builds. Please fix it as soon as possible
10.6.2

Karolhexplor Tuesday, February 23, 2010 6:56:17 PM

OK.. i have to agree that this release and the previous one (with video support) is much more resource consuming than others. Scrolling slow downs very much, typing too... I'm switching back to build 8249

OlliOlli91 Tuesday, February 23, 2010 7:12:39 PM

Flash is buggy as hell...sometimes slow, high CPU-usage (just on one core)..this is defenitely NOT a Beta RC wink

edvakf Tuesday, February 23, 2010 7:14:22 PM

I'm still waiting fot GStreamer's source code. Please.

Please, please, fix native skin! Even fresh installed Opera works bad on native screen! Wand login selection is broken, some other problems too. I understand that most of people need great looking browser but I prefer just fast and good browser with native standard look and the only effects that I want to see are on websites, not opera UI.

It's a beta, not a final release. It can be assured that the current UI problems are only temporary. Go find a beta release of 10 and see what the UI looked like then. It was horrid. I for one have complete confidence in the developers to do this properly, and they have proven in the past they are capable of delivering what we -- the users -- want. The animation effects with the tabs are perhaps superfluous (and should be able to be turned off), but it's not atrocious especially when something like that is extremely simple and efficient due to its switch to Cocoa.

Patience would be preferred on this.

Lucero Jr.Luxer88 Tuesday, February 23, 2010 7:32:23 PM

Thanks for the build, testing!

I really found the typing speed on previous build to be rather irritating... Even co-installed 10.10 and, sorry, it seemed blazing fast at general browsing too right . Obviously, didn't run any reliable test, just generally watched how both version would behave to a couple of websites.

Oh, the "unknown protocol" dialog (when another app is used to open some protocol, like ed2k:// used by emule, but i got this issue while using last.fm) was blanked on the last build and stole all the focus to itself. Had to kill and re-open Opera. It worked fine in 10.10, though.

Danieledarklink88 Tuesday, February 23, 2010 7:35:21 PM

Speaking of the Ui i think Opera default look should be something like this: http://files.myopera.com/darklink88/files/Schermata%202010-02-23%20a%2020.32.00.jpg

rriiicchh Tuesday, February 23, 2010 7:39:12 PM

With http://www.bikeradar.com/road

When clicking on one of the main articles in the Today on BikeRadar section Opera often beachballs and then stops responding.

Lucero Jr.Luxer88 Tuesday, February 23, 2010 7:43:10 PM

1. Wow, right now i have only this tab opened, but Opera's taking up 426,6 MB of RAM...

(Just for the record, in this session i also browsed a little on orkut (which's looking good again, thanks!) and opened the facebook homepage)

2. Visual tabs:

- You can only turn on/off inside the appearance dialog. There's no option in the context menu.

- The whole bar looks positively weird when it's anywhere if not in the top (leftover from 10.10 perhaps?)

i keep editing so that i don't make multiple posts.. lol

Daniel Aleksandersendaniel Tuesday, February 23, 2010 8:40:28 PM

PS: Beachballing for 30-45 second is the known issue.

We say this every time: It will be. So will PPC. (At least, that is the plan. It just isn't a priority for the early development phase.)

What do you mean by "don't work anymore"? Do you get Google Search instead?

Known issue.

uzz Tuesday, February 23, 2010 8:44:42 PM

Another thing. I want to make pseudo native skin based on standard skin and new skin works! But after restart I have black places instead of skin elements! If I change skin to standard and change again to modified - works. After restarting Opera - don't. I was trying PNG first, then just simple GIF - without success. I really want new beta - maybe some working build this time. This is my 4th try and still can't use 10.50 proper.

or even

Can't buy the album, the green button Checkout isn't present.
It is working with Safari...

opera:config is still not working on a French Opera...

When I try to go back or forward with mouse gesture, I'm getting the right click menu which is annoying.

blangbl4nG Wednesday, February 24, 2010 3:04:10 PM

Can you guys add shortcuts to the bottom toolbar? Or next to the address bar? Didn't work for me. When I copied the toolbar folder from 10.10 it only added the ones I had next to the address bar :/

voxel Wednesday, February 24, 2010 4:10:53 PM

High CPU usage on 10.6.2. sad

I really hoped that I could start using 10.50.

Johnwendelloni Wednesday, February 24, 2010 5:04:00 PM

I can't help but notice that this problem seems to still be there. XP x86. Start up and all is well. Hit CTRL-N and get a window with the empty personal bar:

Charlie ClarkMuzzlehatch Wednesday, February 24, 2010 7:48:32 PM

I can confirm that this build is too slow to be usable on 10.6. Flash video runs at about 2fps.

babysick Wednesday, February 24, 2010 9:24:38 PM

I'd love to test this for my work, but without quick preferences / proxy or detailed proxy settings working it might as well just bob around in the water like a cork.

What's the point :-/

Lucero Jr.Luxer88 Thursday, February 25, 2010 1:37:24 AM

I might sound rather silly, but xtube is INCREDIBLY *SLOW*.

Really...

btw, should i ever be willing to share a few suggestions to opera (not bugs just general issues, suggestions, personal wishlist etc.) where would be the best place to do that?

Philip Jägenstedtfoolip Thursday, February 25, 2010 5:26:31 AM

Updated GStreamer source code available: http://sourcecode.opera.com/gstreamer/

Antti Laurilasupermurs Thursday, February 25, 2010 5:16:33 PM

Very high CPU usage on Mac 10.6.2

This happens while not having any Flash running. Also disabling Opera Link provided no solution for this.

Opera/9.80 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X; U; en) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.10 runs perfectly fine.

As this is only a beta it is not an update

Check ~/Library/Application Support and
~/Library/preferences

You'll see different folders for Opera and Opera 1050. While Opera is closed you can simply copy the stuff over from Opera 10 to 1050 everything will be hunky dory.

Bella Martensbellamartens Wednesday, June 23, 2010 11:22:51 AM

I told my friend (who has a Mac) about Opera and he really liked this version of the browser
