Opera Desktop Team

New build for you guys

Here is a new build with some nice Core updates.
Our core department has been working on improving Opera's cache, and this is the first build with these updates.

This build should also be more stable on Windows after running a long time due the fixing of a GDI leak which could cause crashes and freezing tendencies.

A new Mac build will be uploaded a little later today smile

WARNING: This is a development snapshot: it contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Waiting... sad

Great!

Issues:
- Windows Live Hotmail (mail.live.com) still not working...
- "O" button should be nicer (revert to the first pre-alpha build)
- Opera link default button should be reused in the status bar

Great things:
- text not longer blurry! Thanks!

MyOpera team, please fix this!fearphage Tuesday, February 23, 2010 11:33:32 AM

Yay, sounds usable. Thanks gents.

Nice! Usefull stuff the new cache...

Vectronic Tuesday, February 23, 2010 11:44:54 AM

Bookmarks upgraded fine (from 3266)
But it duplicated the Shortcut on the desktop, rather than updating/changing the one that was already there (which it normally does)

Everything else seems good to go (so far) excluding missing context menu's, and lack of Paste on some of them...

Also, another menu thing, in places like Search Engines - Edit... if the text in the search engine name is selected, it has a simple context menu (without Paste) if the text isn't selected, it has the same context menu as Forms/Textarea on webpages.

(other than bookmarks.adr/old, search.ini, urlfilter.ini, and speeddial.ini was a clean profile)

Edit: "Media Sound Off/On" Icons still need to be swapped.
New Tab button [+] on Tab Bar, when tabs are at bottom, still needs it's own hover image (does a 69 type flip on hover, lol)
opera:config still has that really boring/broken CSS all white/black trim, with X, and Loading... at the bottom.
Still can't remove items from "My Buttons", nor remove items from toolbars when Appearance dialog open.

Unix build seems fine (same as the previous stability wise for me). I'm looking forward to seeing the Windows build released so we can finally fix these compiz issues in Linux.

Asires Tuesday, February 23, 2010 11:55:29 AM

lets try

PeterPeter_C Tuesday, February 23, 2010 11:58:16 AM

I have still problems with Proxy-Servers.
Could not use automatic proxy config, because Opera doesn't save the settings and doesn't use it.
Last Version working well was 3260, since then Opera doesn't work for me. furious

.. UR unbeatable! smile have a nice day ..

Phaniphanikumarseelam Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:02:39 PM

Still very slow when browsing behind a Proxy. This problem started in the last build and continues in this. When I try to browse something from behind a proxy, nothing happens for about 10-15 seconds and then all the pages start loading at once. Is this a known issue or should i create a Bug ?

Ja`Nusz WuPLUser Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:05:17 PM

Still freezing one of my page on local disk (DSK-280120).

Zotlan Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:09:25 PM

Much more stable UNIX build this time, keep up the good work.

ChrisCjcr Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:09:51 PM

hi, thanks for this build.

Pls add support for spoof new browsers, like Firefox 3.5, or Chrome, or IE8... It's needed for many sites. worried

I didn't have this problem before. Other people have also confirmed the same thing. I'm not sure if this has something to do with my setup or not.

you should only file one issue per bug report, otherwise things would get very messy in the bug tracker.
i hope your report was more specific than this post BtW. "cannot use" is not very descriptive.

Pavelratt Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:25:20 PM

Are there any plans on builds for Solaris?
Haven't seen one since 10.20.
Perhaps I missed something?

Serdarteknomobil Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:27:24 PM

Win Xp servicepack 3

Vectronic Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:37:38 PM

Same phantom mail as last 3 builds... last time it was an RSS feed stuck in Received this time it's
ÿ»ÚÍ¾ƒK¾ƒK€R"OperaDesktopTeam"<noreply@opera.com>,WelcometoOperaMail
since I setup the account from scratch again.

So, I'm guessing that whatever the first mail/rss item is that Opera sees, gets stuck in omailbase.dat.

Deleting omailbase.dat works for one session, then it just picks that same message out of indexer or wherever, and tosses it back into omailbase.dat... off-by-one issue.
XP SP3.

Hope this process continues after 10.50 is released smile

Hotmail is working for me.

Try deleting all cookies and cache, and setting Identify as Firefox in the site preferences.

Confirm that bug, easy way to replicate it is using Ultrasurf 9.92, timing for full load of videoludo.it:
Opera 3271 1:48
Opera 3260 0:36
IE8 0:34

Kai OckendorfOckendorf Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:50:34 PM

I can´t help myself, but this build has loading/reloading issues on myopera.com!

Rafał MiłeckiZajec Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:50:48 PM

As this is Core build, let me ask some Presto question. Is there any chance we get support for gradients background in Opera 10.50? It's something implemented in Webkit and Gecko, it would be great to be in that group.

Asires Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:52:20 PM

Chromium is always fastest on my system. But that Opera build is exception:

I think the devs would like their weekends back after Evenes is released. wink

eternalnewbie Tuesday, February 23, 2010 12:54:41 PM

Thanks for the new build. I was just wondering you intend on having an easy way to block HTML 5 video, preferably accesible from the "Site Preferences" window?

Does someone know the "new private tab"-hotkey if there's one?

There isn't one, you have to create it... though if you already have a private tab open, Ctrl+T should (as it looks like that's what they intended) create a new tab as private (but it doesn't, lol)
