More fixes

Opera 10.50 for Windows is starting to shape up pretty nicely, and although there are still a few things left to fix, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Here's a new batch of fixes to test. We also have new Unix builds. There might be a little something for Mac users later...

WARNING: This is a development snapshot: it contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Crash on first load again...

same e-mail
comment: "Same as before, crash on initial load after clean install"

This time the second load was normal.

On the bright side, when setting Multi User=0, no crash... so it's only when it's creating the profile in ..\Documents and Settings\*

However, on first exit (after multi=0), after making no changes whatsoever to opera other than closing Portal page, and emptying Closed Tabs... crash...

comment: "Well, after switching to MultiUser=0, on the first exit.. it crashed (hence this report)"

Still can't open widgets from config.xml sad

By the way, openDatabase() from Web SQL Database API does not call passed callback, so the example from W3C does not work.

ceced Thursday, February 25, 2010 12:08:13 PM

When using opera:config#UserPrefs|AlternativePageCycleMode=0 (or 2) and opera:config#UserPrefs|WindowCycleType=2, mouse wheel up works correctly.

However, mouse wheel down has a lots of problem with 3 tabs or more: some tabs cannot be selected display anymore (with an ugly graphical bug).

And once the bug appears, mouse wheel up doesn't work anymore.
No problem with other cycle options (but i don't like their behaviour).

Win 7 x64 pro.

"Auto proxy (.pac) support re-enabled"

Over here it is not working. use case: settings > preferences > network > proxy settings > enable "use auto proxy config" and fill in http://proxy.<domain>.be/proxy.pac.

Also enabled is settings > quick preferences > enable proxy servers.

Pages are still loading very slowly, in Firefox (and Opera 10.10), it's working fine.

That is still not fixed.
But at least you fixed the crash related to trying to close the browser this way.
However, you didn't actually fix tha ability to close the browser this way...

Plus the hoard of other issues...
Now it's like the build before the previous build.
Which is progress if you could call it that lol.

At least it's an improvement none the less.
Still, I can't read a darn thing in the gui still, that white outline on a black background just does not work good.
Nor can I move my tab bar around when I enable it, I mean above or below other toolbars.

I'm glad I didn't have a million duplicate buttons with this install though.
I haven't tried the msi installer in quite some time either since it's been inf looping it's self since who knows when now.

Vectronic Thursday, February 25, 2010 12:18:05 PM

Phantom/Ghost mail still there... once again, first e-mail or RSS it sees... it keeps forever... this time I setup mail first again, so "Welcome to Opera Mail" is stuck in omailbase.dat, and shows up as "Received (1)" cannot be selected, or removed.

Bright Side: the View menu for feeds no longer ties Read/Trash options together...

And so far no empty slots in main Feeds view.

And rendering and scripting seems to be on steroids now, what was 3 seconds, is now 500ms kinda thing... (I mean real world use, not some stupid benchmark)

Yes, I can confirm this behaviour, it's been like that since the alpha.

I already reported the AlternativePageCycleMode=0 bug as DSK-274447.

I had the same problem till i checked the "Enable HTTP 1.1 for Proxy" option in the Proxy Servers dialog box. Opera 10.5 is now again the fastest on my system after that happy .

Fluxid Thursday, February 25, 2010 12:39:24 PM

Scrollbars are semi-transparent with my theme (I don't know if opera uses Qt now, which uses qgtkstyle, or gtk, but it looks like my gtk theme: Murrine Wise), an when i'm scrolling there is some kind of "motion blur" because of that, and when resizing window is look really weird:
http://fluxid.pl/misc/2010-02-25-133631_431x419_scrot.png

There are still problems with international input and opera does not use my fontconfig configuration like opera 10.10 did.

For the devs: tried this for the first time today, it hangs on Ubuntu 10.4, will try 9.10 a little later.. No window appears.

Damn it, Opera is still not using disk cache and reloading page elements on each load. Can anyone confirm if this is an intentional function? And if so, WHY?

- blogger upload photo still not working from "new post" (instead, a blank box appeared)
link

- panel's height unaligned with url box height
link

- when "restore" windows why the field on top so big?
link

- tab bar at bottom - "new tab" hovering seems to be up-side-down
link

- opera:webdatabases, opera:webstorage still native look

- opera:about "help" icon shows "No information could be found for this item."(remember to update this.)

- cookies problem: difficult to login blogger.com

- opening TWO opera windows and close the last only tab (note: NOT windows) on the second windows will automatically closes the second windows and return to first windows (is it intentionally?)

- Another bug:
1. From speed dial, go google.com
2. click on "back" to speed dial.
3. Note at the tab title and favicon. (The speed dial shows a google icon but named speed dial)
4. Now try to click "forward" (the google page shows a speed dial icon but named google)

Yeah waiting for Opera 10.5 RC
Thanks for the daily build!
