Opera Desktop Team

A small changelog

It's a snowy day here in Oslo, Norway, so what better way to spend the afternoon than with a new snapshot?

As you can see from the changelog, this build has a couple of fixes, and further fixes are expected in upcoming snapshots. At this stage, we are particularly interested in any recent regressions you may find.

We would also like to know if you are experiencing any new problems with the cache in the last few builds. There's a forum thread about new cache issues. It should be noted that some of the issues discussed in that thread are probably fixed in this build (CORE-28155: Opera downloads already cached items, ignoring cache settings). Let us know if you find anything.

Please note that there are no Mac or Unix builds, and HTML5

FreeBrain Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:19:46 PM

Sometimes I love a little SARCASM
...
Yes, that was a small changelog bigsmile

Arguggi Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:20:59 PM

Was waiting for a new snapshot yes

But really the next time take all the time you want but try to a have a longer changelog, this one sucks xD

DrillSarge Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:22:51 PM

I don't like the new tab icon and the style of the tabs in the background (standard opera skin) if opera is maximized.. but the native skin is fine now. anyway, nice changelog!

Satan D. Lucifersupertrol Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:24:53 PM

is it ok to upgrade my clean install of 3273(beta2..windows)?

im afraid that some of my settings will lost and the cache problem may still persist in this version

poorrichard01 Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:25:04 PM

Will it be possible in a future snapshot to get rid of the title bar with the Windows Native skin like it is with the Standard skin?

artemeas Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:25:37 PM

I want Opera 11 xD

z-o-o-m Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:27:01 PM

great wink

does anybody knows why this happens?

when I switch from a game (DirectX) back to windows, Opera does not redraw correctly sad

loblo Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:27:02 PM

The standard skin seems to have changed and it's not very nice on Windows ME IMO. Those transparent inactive tabs apparently...

Could not find an option to restore the skin as it was with previous builds.

Bruno Casanobrunitoc Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:27:34 PM

Great !!! Nice Changelog !!! Great work Teams

poorrichard01 Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:29:01 PM

Ooooooh I just noticed what someone else pointed out: Background tabs are now transparent. Very nice!

Arguggi Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:30:07 PM

neither am i, brown color isn't very appealing.

Anyway private tab still saves data in cookies and cache!

And since last build if i open a video game while opera is open the tab bar and the status bar lose their transparency, even if in this new build the menù bar isn't all messed up. I still have to report this.

EDIT: After I close the videogame (Cod4 in this case) the transparency returns, but the tab bar is messed up.

Sonique Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:30:08 PM

boormark upgrade fix .. great thanks smile

maybe fix close button missing .. the menu line !?!?

NEOAethyr Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:30:18 PM

Cool this looks fun to check out smile.
I will later on, I gotta do some taxes fixups for my grandparents and do some more work with opera v10.10 menu's.
Then I'll check it out, looking forward to it.
smile

Could you try to be a little more specific? You could describe what you are seeing, or link to a screenshot.

loblo Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:30:52 PM

I still don't have a blinking cursor in any edit field (Windows ME) btw wink

artemeas Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:31:05 PM

@z-o-o-m it happens sometime sad( just restart opera

galu83 Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:31:37 PM

"Find in this page" bug still not fixed (Opera crashes very frequently if the search string starts with empty character, e.g. " a", " b").
Reported with the ID: DSK-283938.

dityanaoan Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:31:59 PM

Great work as always

Abhishek ThakurAbhishek9102 Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:34:19 PM

I don't think that changelog can get any smaller than this bigsmile

Teuntweeny Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:34:40 PM

I like the new inactive tabs, but I like to see a bit less transparency in the tabs, because you have more contrast, for example this "new tab" button has almost no contrast

But this tabs are better than the previous one

sorry for my bad english

thartist Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:35:54 PM

Mod edit: Please stop reposting the same article over and over again.

netwolf Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:37:48 PM

Great little changelog smile
TBH though, I don't like the look of the shiny white tabs either.
They are just too - well - shiny and white now.

EDIT: I very much appreciate the fact that the blue dots are less obtrusive now!

mjpa Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:38:15 PM

Like the modified MDI windows but not too sure on the more transparent inactivate tabs. If the dekstop wallpaper is black behind the tabs it makes it harder to read, maybe use the aero blurred text instead of normal text?

Not seen a reply from someone at Opera so I'll ask again p Is the middle clicking of links meant to be caching the redirect URL? Same thing with Copy Link Address.

Edit: Forgot to mention, when a the progress bar is set to "pop up at bottom", if you scroll down while the page is loading, the progress bar moves up with the page and then clamps to the bottom of the window again producing a flickering effect

Daniel HendrycksDanielHendrycks Saturday, February 27, 2010 5:38:50 PM

Visual tabs' new tab button and tabs are inconsistent with the normal new tab button and the normal tabs.

That's how it looked before (more or less as the screenie is made on OperaTor 10.10 having overwritten build 3275 with build 3290)

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3866/snap2052.png

And that's how it looks like now with the same settings (Default skin Gold):
