10.50 Release Candidate 3 for Windows

Opera 10.50 RC3 for Windows fixes these issues:

  • User JS/Browser JS fix
  • Fixed DSK-284262 (Double-clicking on sent mail crashes Opera)
  • Fixed US-1881 (Opera Unite applications not localized in Opera 10.50 RC and RC2)

@Tamil: I hope not, in my opinion there are still a lot of unfixed bugs in 10.50 that don't exist in 10.10.

Seeing as there is likely to be less comments, can you confirm if the middle clicking of links caching the redirected URL is a feature or a bug? (reported as DSK-282518) as it is affecting day to day browsing.

No biggie for me, but on XP SP3, the InstallShield logo in the installer (while it's installing) is blurry. Has been for all of the 10.50 builds, actually.

Since RC1 is there an transparent shadowed line in [pagebar skin]. It's the 1px lower black line which is the main problem. This is no problem with standard skin, because you don't see it. But it's ugly in some other skins. Please remove it...

I just rechecked this with build 3275 and here it's all ok!



This line overlaps all [pagebar button skin.(left/top/bottom/right)] objects here.
This could be a transparent thing. And yes, it's both Opera STANDARD SKIN.

Here the same "bug" within another skin sad



It's not only visible there, also in other skins, e.g. my skin WIP. It was suddenly there since RC1!

Please remove it or say how to suppress it, please!

PS: is it normal, that I can't insert any smilies in "Edit Comment". Clicking der lower right smiley doesn't function with 3293.

there are no check boxes in the Delete Private Data and Appearance windows with the Native skin. there are no drop-down arrow buttons for drop-down menus either.

Yes, using the Windows Native skin causes some missing form widgets like checkboxes and radio buttons.

Results in a small 'blank page' in the corner, on top of the toolbar, and with the 'close' button off the window, very strange. Under WinXP, 3293.

EDIT: I think this may be intentional - but it still looks very odd. Setting 'always maximise, including popups' make the popup maxmise and looks better. Strange I never noticed it before.

Add tab button still messed up since RC1, and I really dont like the background colour of tabs...

1. set read or delete a mail.
2. ctrl + Z for undo.
3. select the mail.
4. mail body not load.

Translating, Banco do Brasil website doesn't work with Opera.
At least on the Mac Beta, Opera basically doesn't go through the login page (which is Java based apparently).

This time I will NOT test the build on my laptop - everything's indicating we're getting a final release by tomorrow, isn't it? hehehehe

Regression introduced after build 3275 on W7 x64

1. Clean install of Opera RC3 (no previous version of opera folders present in user profile or in %programfiles(x86)%)

2. Go to www.bing.com

3. Right click in search field and select create search

4. In the search engine window, enter 'b' as keyword

5. Click OK or Cancel - The search engine window does not go away. I have to hit the red x to close window.

Despite this issue, Bing was added to the search providers list.

If I went and added pricegrabber as a search provider, everything worked as expected.

I hope not too for the same reason. A lot of cosmetic issues should be corrected for the final release, otherwise it will be like they absolutely want to release it asap without taking care of its appearance. :/

Otherwise, DSK-284257 doesn't seem to be solved for me... Should I do a clean install one more time?

Problem with some wikipedia pages guys when I use search(ctrl+f). When I press spacebar then try to type in my word opera crashes. For example: on "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opera_(web_browser)" page when I try to type " opera" in search, browser crashes. (also tried typing other words with one empty space at first place, with same result)

Why does not the auto-completion work anymore sad ?
When I write "opera" in the address-bar and I click on the "Enter" on my keyboard, Google opens with results with the word "Opera". The auto-completion of "www" and ".com" doesn't work sad

Confirmed this, but could this be something to do with OperaMail database rebuild?
I watched resource monitor of win7 64 and it shows something like this



Opera doesn't respond, harddisk is at 99%.

It seems to me like this might be the one. Very stable, looks nice, no obvious bugs for me, and finally the speed is back up to where it was a few builds ago....faster than Chrome 5 on both Peacekeeper and Sun Spider.

Not a show-stopper but a regression from 10.10 and maybe easy to fix (I guess you're going to release the final today):

You already fixed the blank (completely white) search bar when opera:config#UserPrefs|SpeedDialState was set to 3, but the password manager bar is still affected and appears blank.

Since you already fixed it for the search bar, maybe it's easy to fix for the password bar, too.

i didnt use custom menu......
but the menu a bit weird, the menu looks like 10.10

Right clicking a Note (either in the notes panel or notes tab) and selecting Copy doesn't function (Note's contents is not copied to the clipboard).
Cut and Paste work.

Did you note all the comments about it in the 3275 posting? It doesn't work well for all kinds of title bars. There's still transparency for background tabs, but only a very little bit.
