"Improve Carakan memory usage compared to Futhark"
up that's good to hear that, i hated to read reviews stating that Opera 10.5 is the worst on memory management.

I encountered the following bug with Opera 10.50/51 under Windows XP SP3: when I click a link in another program when Opera is not running, the link is not always opened correctly. I observed the following:

- If Opera was closed the previous time with a web page displayed in a tab, the link that was clicked is correctly opened in a new tab after Opera has started again

- If Opera was closed the previous time with only a single tab which displays SpeedDial (so not a web page), the link that was clicked is not opened; instead, Opera only displays the SpeedDial tab.

Can anyone confirm?

Daniel HendrycksDanielHendrycks Saturday, March 13, 2010 11:39:58 PM

Very good speed improvement. I got +600 points (on Peackeeper) more than the best result I have ever recorded. But, could you please finish the system integration, there are just a few small things left.

DSK-276834 (Ini file variables no longer working: %s, %t, %c, %u, %l)

I expected this bug would have been fixed. sad

The resize cursor stays like the resize cursor icon after hovering over a resizable place then hovering over some other place. This is a Vega bug. I noticed this since 10.5 pre-alpha but it is not yet fixed. Example: Help>Check for updates>hover over glass outline>move the cursor elsewhere>see it?

Horizontal scrolling still not working with my Logitech MX1000.

Bookmarks load time is slower than Opera 10.10.

Good job.

Ah, so now we'll finally see a 10.5× release hit the auto-update servers wink

Lucero Jr.Luxer88 Sunday, March 14, 2010 12:03:19 AM

Will try it on my laptop.

Thanks for the hard work!

Incorrect work site Google Translate - http://translate.google.ru / http://translate.google.com, pop-up element of Google Translate (when you hover on the word / sentence) is superimposed on the page, making it difficult to view.

Both are different installers. For me, Windows Classic is a faster installer and it is a lighter download too. But, Windows MSI is prettier.

I never observed it with such details, but, yes, as far as I have noticed it, if I open a link on an external program while Opera is closed, Opera will simply open with speed dial (as I set it to open), not the link.
BTW, I saw this on Mac, never tested on Windows.

On other versions, Opera would open speed dial on the first tab and the link on a second tab (a behaviour I always thought to be quite weird as well).

Talking about performance, I got a slight increase on the overall peacekeeper results with this RC here on my laptop.

Some specific items have decayed a little, though.

Avola Sunday, March 14, 2010 12:44:02 AM

Good stuff, the peacekeeper results on this one are excellent. I don't have any new bugs to report, but I wish you would fix the small artifacts on zoomed pages bug that's been around since early pre-alphas.

Sulphide Sunday, March 14, 2010 12:44:09 AM

wow! peacekeeper 6923 marks on my phenom II 925, slightly overclocked bigsmile great work!
previous build gave me only 5700 marks...

The red close "x" is still not there when "show close buttons on each tab" is unchecked, and the %u parameter from the standard_menu.ini is still not working for passing links to flashget. I don't mean to sound unappreciative...your efforts are awesome... it's just that we want perfection, IMMEDIATELY:D bigsmile bigsmile

This page is still sending Opera's memory usage nuts...

http://www.business.brookes.ac.uk/postgraduate/Scholarships.asp?err404=postgraduate/scholarships.html

Please check into this, I've noticed similar behaviour on a few other sites as well.

Original post from 10.5 RC5 build here.

Also have noticed a few times on multiline text input controls (like this one), Opera gets confused about some text which shunts off the bottom, and I can't scroll to it. The only fix is to scroll up, cut-paste some text, and scroll down again. Can't find exact circumstances to reproduce this, but have had it quite a few times here.
