On a roll: Opera 10.51 for Windows released

Opera 10.51 (build 3315) for Windows has been released.

Now even faster than before!

For example, Peacekeeper can be up to 20-30% faster than in Opera 10.50 (in fact, Opera 10.51 is currently listed as being part of the fastest system at Peacekeeper). Read more about the performance improvements at Choose Opera and the Opera Developer Network (you can also read about how Google's tests show that Opera has the most compliant JavaScript engine).

This release also addresses a couple of security issues, as well as various stability improvements and other bug fixes. Please see the changelog for more details.

Opera 10.51 final is a Windows-only release, but we are working hard on bringing the Mac and Unix versions to product quality. The build is the same as RC3.

As this is a security release, it will be available as an automatic update for Opera 10.50 and older versions that support automatic updates.

My problem is fixed! Just needed a reboot it seems. Damn Vista...

Thanks for the new browser updates! The theme is very crisp and quite nice visually. Not too much and not too little. smile

3 bugs that I want to report
(and those aren't all that I noticed)

1. PDF bug. If I open *.pdf file in Opera (using Acrobat plugin), I will be able to see this file, but after closing tab with it or after minimizing Opera, or...
Anyway, after opening pdf I get crashes. BTW, not single; sometimes there are two or three crashes in a row.

2. Opera Variables like ''%T'' or ''%U'' etc. They doesn't work since 10.50! It's really bad. I can't use some add-ons, like Download Master, oGet, QSaver... and, maybe, others.

3. WML bug with links that lead to cards.
Example:
Go forward

This link MUST open the card with id "g51". But it only adds #51 in adressbar, and nothing happens.
I can open needed card only if I open link in new tab or copy needed url with card id, paste it in adrbar and press 'enter'.
In older versions there were no problems.
BTW, some tags like:
<anchor><go href="#card"/>...</anchor>

or other tags with <go href=...> work without problems.

So, I tired of spamming support with bug reports... So I post it here. I hope that you will fix all this. Thanks.

P.S. WinXP, Opera 10.51 (3315)

Sounds like you submitted one bug multiple times. Once is enough. And yes bug reports do get read, and before I get they get prioritised so it may take a while before they get fixed an no the bug tracker is not public.

I still miss the button in the upper right corner of the main menu for closing tabs... I hope these buttons will be back in a next release.

I don't have the copy problem but I do have bad streaking when I scroll Opera and have my 'Moffsoft FreeCalc' as Always on Top. It's the only program I have set that way but I don't think it's unique because another commenter has the same problem with another program.

Anyone else have a problem with
http://nos.nl/artikel/148420-nederlandse-gered-van-mount-doom.html ?

Map at bottom of article loads, then turns black. Works fine in FF, except that it seems to go straight to Street View. Maybe an error in the page is being interpreted differently by FF and Opera?

Confirmed here with Win 7 and the easter build 3344.

Please report this bug using Bug Report Wizard.

When done you will be taken to another page which will provide you with an email address. The name in the email address is the bug number (looks like DSK 123456). Leave the bug number here without the rest of the email address (to prevent the mailbox from getting spammed).

What was the bug number? When you forgot to write it down look up the second page in the browser's History and reopen the page. You will get the email address with the bug number again (the bug number is coded in the address of the page).

Google Maps is not working for me since upgrading to 10.51. The map loads on first click, but I can't move it or zoom in or out. Anyone have a clue how to fix this?

As far as I can see, Opera 10.51 crashes during trying to restore the multi-window session. Can you or somebody confirm or refute?

Greg Lucasglucas Monday, April 12, 2010 5:16:24 PM

@toadbee: I'm seeing the same thing with timestamps off by an hour.

Is this the case with the latest 10.52 snapshot? (It's OK, it should not be as crashy as 10.52)

It is 10.51. The latest, as my Opera says.

Haavardhaavard Thursday, April 15, 2010 9:21:33 AM

If you want to post feedback here, it should be for the latest snapshot for your platform, and in the relevant blog post.

ConstantineUAConstantine Thursday, April 15, 2010 10:25:49 AM

The blog post title is "On a roll: Opera 10.51 for Windows released". I post about relevant 10.51.

This is the latest snapshot for Desktop Windows platform, due to my Opera opinion.

Zotlan Thursday, April 15, 2010 10:43:15 AM

10.51 is currently stable, issues with it go on the main forum, the latest windows snapshot for 10.52 can be gotten here.

Do you mean to say that this is not the place for placing comments on 10.51? If that is the case, why is this place not closed for new comments?

Zotlan Thursday, April 15, 2010 11:47:07 AM

That, i do not know, but comments on the current stable release go here

Maksmegaupload Thursday, April 15, 2010 3:46:45 PM

I used Peacekeeper but I suppose that Opera is faster

Haavardhaavard Wednesday, April 21, 2010 11:17:22 AM

10.51 is already out, so there's no need to post comments about it. If you want to give us feedback, get the latest snapshot.

Seriously... it's already out, and not only that, there has been 10.52, 10.53, and now 10.54 since then.

Nice, this was the first time I came in touch with Opera and I really liked it - cool browser
