Opera 10.52 for Mac and Windows is released

, ,

We are pleased to announce that Opera 10.52 for Mac and Windows is now out on the track. There’s been a lot of under-the-hood work, but also some intense polishing over the last couple of weeks. The end result is faster and shinier than ever! And it’s totally environmentally friendly. The only CO2 emission will be from your ooooh-ing and aaaah-ing. smile

  • Fixed issues with pages never stop loading
  • Fixed issues with caching
  • Fixed an issue with opening email attachments
  • Fixed an issue with access to Unite administration pages
  • Fixed a crash with various third-party apps on Facebook

Linux's 10.5 version will be worth it, it's worth the wait !!

Vladimyr IvanovVladimyr Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:23:35 AM

It must be 10.50 RC2.
It's not needed to run ahead locomotive devil

Taneltankest Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:27:26 AM

Could someone post the instructions on how to perform a full clean Opera install on OS X? Currently have 10.10 and 10.5b installed and upgrading doesn't seem such a good idea.

Dmitriy Kvasnikovfarmacevtua Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:29:39 AM

A nasty and irritating bug.

Type an address wrongly, and then the correct one. You can then delete the wrong one from the dropdown with the X button on the right and it won't show again in the dropdown itself. However it will be shown in autocomplete.

Although the wrong address is not in the dropdown, it is the autocompleted one. Seems that the X button deletes it from the dropdown but it still appears in the autocomplete.

Win7 x64, I have already reported the bug.

ALEXWASTE Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:40:21 AM

Going back by holding down the right mouse button and clicking the left one brings up the context menu on Mac. This is a real bugger :\

Harlekin Mondharlekinmond Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:40:27 AM

Thank you very much Opera Team =)

dr jon Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:46:18 AM

I've been running RC5 for a little while (by which I mean having it run up basically since I downloaded and installed it) and I now find I can't send mail on Yahoo (works fine until I hit the Send button, then nothing) and I can't Tweet on Twitter.com (again, seems fine until I hit the button).
XPsp3, latest Java (tho I assume all this is Javascript).
Have quite a lot of tabs open as am researching several things.
Didn't see this on earlier 10.52 snapshots.

Asires Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:47:07 AM

thanks smile

glache Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:49:43 AM

Great! Been itching to leave 10.10 for a while. This is much less buggy, and much more lightweight than either 10.50 or 10.51. In fact, it equals 10.10 in either of those areas, and is much faster. Best thing is, it retains my non-Opera 10.5-compatible skin properly.

zoquete Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:51:46 AM

1)dcc does not work since 10.50
2)Fixed an issue were mails could be lost when upgrading from Opera 9.27 - better no comment

Lucalucaviozzi Tuesday, April 27, 2010 9:58:57 AM

"intense polishing over the last couple of weeks"
You mean you cleaned up Opera's code for future releases?

Gosha Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:21:45 AM

www.ajaxian.com with scroll page still freezes opera. And also NSL present on that site.

RoyiDrazick Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:22:12 AM

The memory consumption is still too high.

zoquete Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:27:18 AM

It is not possible to download voice files, if you have them, Opera does not recognize them:
DSK-274523
DSK-279463

New pages are very nice:

http://www.opera.com/browser/tips/

Please add Spanish in page-language-combo-box at the bottom.

It is much more important language than, German of French.

SteveKong Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:29:32 AM

Simple OT question: How do I rearrange the panel buttons? I cannot move them anymore.

Daniel Dyerdwdyer Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:36:45 AM

Still has the annoying bug with the back/forward gestures. Go to any web page and click on a link. Then, without moving the mouse cursor, hold down the right button and click the left. This will take you back to where you were, but when you release the mouse button it follows the link again. This happens on any occasion where the back/forward takes you to a page where there is a link below the mouse, so you can end up on completely unexpected pages.

Besmir Godolebgodole Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:36:55 AM

Very, very nice! yes

Bakazaur Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:37:39 AM

Opera 10.52 still "freezes" at this:
http://pastebin.com/189TFEgi

...and still crashes at
http://www.kempinski.com/de/hamburg/Seiten/Welcome.aspx
(open in "User Mode", change to "Author Mode")

[WinXP SP3]

...And, yes, I'm still using Opera 10.10, too.

Looking forward to testing the 10.5x builds—they are usually more stable than the stable ones :-)

wojtzuch Tuesday, April 27, 2010 11:05:12 AM

Three bug reports filled (XP SP3):

Tilt wheel (I use MX1000) doesn't work on wide pages.
Scrolling with a mouse wheel doesn't work on a long suggestions list in F2-activated field after clicking on "Show x more".
Opera window doesn't show up after clicking on a new mail notification tool-tip in a system tray.

BTW, won't "Accept cookies only from a site I visit" as default cause problems with logging in on some sites?
